[Fiware-technical-committee] Candidature to FIWARE Technical Steering Committee (TSC)

Hi,

I hereby announce my candidature to the FIWARE Technical Steering
Commitee (TSC) as representative of the Data/Media and Context
Management (Data) Chapter.

As a background on my activity, I have been a member of the Data Chapter
since 2012. In the past 4 years I have led the development of Orion
Context Broker GEri. Orion is not only one of the most important GEris
of the chapter, but also one of the most important GEris of the whole
FIWARE platform. Its numbers, as topmost GEri both in support requests
at StackOverflow
(http://stackoverflow.com/questions/tagged/fiware-orion) and downloads
in Dockerhub (https://hub.docker.com/u/fiware/), support this point. In
addition, it is one of the most used GEris among FIWARE-based projects,
being the key piece of many startups in the FIWARE Acceleration Program.

Apart from my full commitment in Orion development, I have been involved
in many technical discussions related to the Context Broker and Data
Chapter: NGSIv2 specification discussion, context-based GE integrations
(CB-to-CEP, CB-to-Wirecloud, etc.) and POI & NGSI API alignment
discussions. I have also a wide knowledge of the FIWARE platform and how
Data Chapter fits in it. In fact, in the past I was leading the Smart
City Light demo application integration effort, involving 19 GEris in
all technical chapters.

Finally, I have served FIWARE in a number of occasions as speaker and
evangelist in many events, as well as acting as coach and jury member in
hackathons and challenges. Just to cite some: Campus Party London 2013,
Brazil 2014 & 2015 and Mexico 2014, Santander hackathon October 2013,
Hack4good, IMPACT accelerator events, FIWARE Excellence Final, Smart
City World Expo 2014, StartUp Weekend FIWARE events, Codemotion 2014,
4YFN 2015, Madrid, Brussels & Vienna Developers Week.
