Dear TSC colleagues,
I would like to open the discussion with you in relation to the
possibility to publish third parties training courses, on FIWARE, into the
FIWARE Academy.

Until now only GEi developers created training content published (or
referenced) in the FIWARE Academy.
It is already happening now that a training course on how to develop a
smart city / open data application using FIWARE has been created and
contributed to the FIWARE Academy ... not visible yet because it's
currently under validation by Juanjo.

Recently we've been contacted for evaluating the possibility to include in
the FIWARE Academy the reference to the training courses created by INACAP
in the context of TID activities in Chile:
https://www.fiware.org/2017/03/29/how-to-develop-iot-solutions-in-fiware-first-mooc-in-spanish/

Looking at the email arrived this morning to the TSC: "FIWARE in AWS" I see
this as an additional possibility to have concrete experience translated in
training material and contributed to the Academy ...

Given said all that, the issues I would like to clarify with you are (my
view in brackets after each point):
1) Are we in favor to publish training courses created by *non* GE owners?
[DDC: yes, it's a good sign of adoption]

2) Do we need a process for publishing courses?
[DDC: yes. starting from the proposed course we have to identify 2-3
persons that validate the content, maybe starting from chapter leaders]

3) Has the course provider to join the FIWARE Community?
[DDC: yes, in order to be able to edit a course entry it's mandatory to
have a forge account that is member of the FIWARE project]

One more thing ... In order to group all these kind of training courses it
has been created a dedicated top level folder "FIWARE Developers" ...
somehow to follow the same structure we have in fiware.org

Last week of April I'll have a call with INACAP on if and how to progress
with this collaboration ... it will be useful to have a TSC official
position that drives the activity.

Comments here and/or at next TSC call (Juanjo, please, add this point to
the agenda).

My best wishes for happy Easter to you and your beloveds.
Kind Regards,
Davide
