Dear all,

In last TSC meeting we introduced a proposal that Juanjo requested me to put in writing for all GE owners and TSC members.

It is consequence of own experience in passing the integration tests for new versions of a GE. As we don’t know if this situation is happening also in other GEs, we considered appropriate to consult all of you to assess the need and find a solution. Let me explain.

All GEs, when produce new release, have to pass the unit tests to be sure the new versions are not introducing new errors and they still fulfill with the specifications. This process is up to each GE owners, of course. Apart from that, the new version have also to pass integration tests with other existing components. At least, this is the case of IoT Agents. In these cases, it will be of great usefulness to have a common and dedicated environment, ideally in some infrastructure under FIWARE foundation control, to perform these integration tests.

Thus, we wonder two questions:

  * Are other GEs also interested in this kind of environment since you are in similar situation of need? Which ones? In case you don’t need it, how do you do these integration tests or don’t you need them? If we conclude no one is needing this, we will find an alternative solution.
  * Could the Foundation provide such environment for all interested GEs?

Thanks a lot.

Best regards
