[Fiware-technical-committee] Resuming joint Fiware TSC / ETSI working group to progress Service Execution with NGSI-LD

Dear Fiware colleagues,

You may remember that about 2 years ago, we were having regular telcos between Fiware TSC members and ETSI ISG CIM to progress the topic of NGSI-LD Digital Twins.  This lead to the production of a Fiware white paper<https://www.fiware.org/wp-content/uploads/FF_PositionPaper_FIWARE4DigitalTwins.pdf> and of an ETSI group report<https://www.etsi.org/deliver/etsi_gr/CIM/001_099/017/01.01.01_60/gr_CIM017v010101p.pdf>.


End of last year, a new Work Item<https://portal.etsi.org/webapp/WorkProgram/Report_WorkItem.asp?WKI_ID=69157>, has been initiated to progress the topic of service execution in NGSI-LD. Its scope is:

"This WI builds upon conclusions of GR CIM 0017 ('Feasibility of NGSI-LD for Digital Twins (DT) which identified the needs for management of complex service execution in NGSI-LD systems. This WI starts with a description of relevant use cases, integrating at least the handling of DT capabilities as described in GR CIM 017. It analyses the requirements and the limitations of using the current NGSI-LD API for service execution, including, but not limited to, prioritization of executions, service execution across entities and evaluation, whether a transaction concept is needed. Then it analyses some of the existing service execution frameworks and provide recommendation to either extend the existing GS CIM 009 specification or add a new one specific to service execution. "

We discussed with Juanjo that it is the good time to invite interested TSC member to join the drafting team and progress the overall topic of service execution handling.

Our progress meetings are taking place on the Mondays every ~2 weeks, the next one being next Monday.
