Thanks for the info & materials Philipp & Timo -- I promised (to Tiina) that can join the meet. I guess details for how exactly come later? Timo said that someone from CIE could join too if needed. I can at least describe how things currently run in the demo and was thinking of capturing a new video of it as well. We have ~constantly moving objects there from the public transport vehicle info from Helsinki, very 'dynamic POIs' as they are called in the fiware plans. For getting updates well for such information have been wondering whether we should use websockets instead of http polling. Like of course do with the data that goes via Tundra with the scene sync. OTOH those vehicle position changes from GPS data are kind of rare anyway (once every few seconds) so http polling is kind of fine. ~Toni On Fri, Dec 12, 2014 at 1:27 PM, Timo Mukari <timo.mukari at cie.fi> wrote: > > Hi, > > Attached short summary slides of the POI demo status & architecture, hope this helps. > > Timo Mukari > University of Oulu > Center for Internet Excellence, CIE > > -----Original Message----- > From: fiware-webui-bounces at lists.fi-ware.org [mailto:fiware-webui-bounces at lists.fi-ware.org] On Behalf Of Philipp Slusallek > Sent: 11. joulukuuta 2014 13:45 > To: fiware-webui at lists.fi-ware.org; Lemme, Stefan > Subject: [Fiware-webui] Fwd: PHILIPP: Session on KIARA during Architects weekly follow-up confcall this Monday December 15th > > Hi all, > > Sorry, for another short notice request, but Juanjo has asked me to present the POI discussions on the FIWARE call on monday morning. This is a bit early for us as we will start these desicussion only on Wednesday but Juanjo was already pushing this topic in our call on Monday, so that there was not much of an option. > > I will prepare some slides summarizing our work in WebUI but also in > FI-C2 in this areas . Mainly to present the current state and kick off the discussion. For that it would be good to get input (slides, suggestions for topics to raise, etc.) from the relevant GE owners. This includes > POI of course, > GIS for the context, > RVI for interacting with the objects > > Besides the status-quo I am planning to address also where we might be going along the lines of what we discussed yesterday, including (i) protocols/communication, (ii) data model including direct/indirect references between e.g. CB, POI, RVI, and such, (iii) "API" to get data from POI/CB into the graphical representation (e.g. show the concrete temperature on a slider) and back such as providing user input to the source objects/services (via an enhanced version of RVI or such). > > Since we did not have that discussion yet, please send me your input on this and I will try to condense this into common slides over the weekend.
