Here, Just a brief update regarding status of the analysis of some of the issues raised regarding access to software (binaries) and Installation/Administration Guides marked as PP. My current view on the matter is as follows: * Relying on certain clauses of the Collaboration Agreement, access to binaries and Installation/Administration Guides should be granted royalty-free to FI-PPP members when ALL the following requirements are met: * they request it in writing * they require it for execution of their respective projects within the FI-PPP * they can explain that using it "as a Service" through a well defined API (from the FI-WARE Testbed or any other hosting facility) is not enough * Notwithstanding the previous point, we shall provide access to binaries and Installation/Administration Guides to the EC (and reviewers) for auditing/reviewing purposes. Here, it is not clear whether it is enough to provide access to the facilities where GEs offered "as a Service" are hosted. It will depend very much on EC's willingness. This is just my view. As already mentioned, the issues have been shared with our PO and we are waiting for his response. Note that if my view is correct, the binaries and Installation Guides of most of the software linked to FI-WARE GEs would not need to become accessible to UC projects in the first phase (except maybe the one linked to the Cloud Proxy or any FI-WARE GE that runs on local infrastructures linked to the Proof of Concepts). However, a different story may apply to UC trials or SME experiments in phase 2 and 3, where I can foreseen that the above mentioned requirements could be met. Based on this, and until the EC provides an answer: * We will keep access to the "FI-WARE PPP Restricted" project only limited to FI-WARE partners * Owners of GEs that we had agreed could be offered "as a Service" hosted in facilities different than the FI-WARE Testbed will not be requested to upload their binaries and Installation/Administration Guides until the EC provides an official answer about where binaries and Installation/Administration Guides can be delivered in their particular case.
