Hi all,

Please find enclosed the final report on the Interim Assessment of the FI-PPP program.

Rather an interesting document to read. In general terms, FI-WARE doesn't look too bad in the overall picture (at least compared to others :-). Indeed no particular recommendation is targeted to FI-WARE. It's true that it is recognized that some UC projects may develop enablers that may be categorized as GEs (though I guess this raises an issue about how they will be supported in the long run). But this is something that has been recognized by the FI-PPP AB long time ago (despite some people may argue we have a big budget, certainly becomes small when compared to all the set of GEs that might be developed). It is also mentioned that some of our GEs may not be of interest to all UC projects, which is something that simply reflects the fact that UC projects cannot pretend being able to represent all demands from potential users. Interestingly enough, it is recognized that starting UC projects and FI-WARE at the same time was not the best idea.

Anyway, a document that is worth reading. We may need to prepare answers to some questions that may be related to issues raised in it.

The report was too large, therefore I have uploaded it into the FI-WARE docman as private document:

Dear FI PPP Steering Board Members,

Following the Interim Assessment of the Future Internet Public Private Partnership (FI- PPP), we have the pleasure of sending you the final report. It includes specific recommendations for today's FI PPP participants, therefore please share widely within the consortia. A series of recommendations would merit a brief reflection at the forthcoming SB meeting on 20 June. In follow-up to this, I would appreciate if Concord could take upon themselves to work out the replies to recommendations which are directed to the current FI PPP partners, and send us the consolidated views and a follow-up action plan, if appropriate, by September 2012.

Many thanks in advance,

With kind regards,

Peter Fatelnig
