[Fiware-wpa] Proposal for improvements in the backlog (tracke+wiki)

Hi Sergio,

Thanks for feedback.
Answers:

1. Yes. In agile, which is obsessed with delivery, user story is defined as functionality lasting a sprint, and feature, a release (3 sprints). Therefore, release is enough for a feature.

2. When developing an integration feature, I don't recommend stating the name of the enablers in the name of the backlog item, perhaps it's feasible for two GE, but the schema will fall when using 4 or 5 GE. Therefore, I recommend using a concept or functional identification. Fermin is already using a backlog for the live-demo where the items follow this approach. Anyway, if you wish we can explore any specific case, let me know.

3. I agree. My view is that the wiki is a partial external view of the tracker, therefore the tracker should be prevalent to the wiki. However, some fields belonging to the wiki, as rational, etc are only defined there. It could be done differently but I didn't want to propose other procedures at this stage.

Well, thanks again, if any other concern or doubt, please, let me know.

Kind regards,
Manuel

Hi Manuel,

According to your proposal, I understand that features should only have release, and workitems/user stories only sprint. Is it correct?

Regarding the GEs to which the ticket applies, if there are more than one involved (typically an integration feature), which should be the pattern for the name FIWARE.Feature. Chapter...? Well, I'm giving for granted that I'm allowed to select more than one in tracker.

I would only suggest to have, if it's feasible, a tool to check consistency between Tracker and Wiki (back and forth). That's always a mess.

Apart from that, thanks for clarifying and simplifying the process.

Best Regards,
Sergio.

Dear Partners,

I'd like to share this proposal for improving the backlog with you.
Some aspects comes from your emails and phone calls held with you last month. I've already added some items.
Some steps are already undertaken, as the simplification of the wiki view. Some others I'm already working on.

I wonder whether you would require a presentation/discussion where the proposal could be explained/clarified/enriched, meanwhile you can also send additional comments.

Kind regards,
Manuel
