Folks, One of the APs identified during our last follow-up confcall had to do with detailing, as much as possible, the mapping of features into minor releases of the 2nd major release of FI-WARE. I remind you that this exercise is important because will be used to explain Arian, answering a request made by him, what we can deliver as software by end of April, therefore made available for the 2nd year official review which will take place late June or early July. The answer we would give to Arian should be consistent with what we announce in the Technical Roadmap for minor releases 2.1 and 2.2. Note that development of minor release 2.2 should be closed by end of March and should be actually available on the FI-WARE Testbed (not yet the FI-WARE Open Innovation Lab) by end of April. We may also argue that we will spend the month of April not just in deploying the software but also finalizing the accompanying documentation and preparing the officlal deliverables. For more details regarding releases dates and the additional month requested for deploying the software on the Testbed and closing the final documentation, please check [1]. Currently, my view on the status is as follows: * Cloud chapter: it seems like ready, please confirm * Data/Context chapter: there is no mapping of features into minor Releases for some of the components (e.g. Context Broker) * IoT chapter: seems like in very early stage, please push * Apps chapter: it seems like ready, please confirm * Security chapter: good progress but still no mapping of features into minor Releases for some of the components * I2ND chapter: seems like in very early stage, please push * Tools chapter: seems like in very early stage, please push Note that mapping of features into releases is just indicative. A fundamental principle of Agile is that planning evolves over time so you could only confirm what are the features that you are addressing in the current release and what user stories you are actually implementing in the current sprint. Therefore, things may vary over time. This is something we will make clear to Arian and reviewers. We will definitively close the Technical Roadmap deliverable by end of this week and will submit the email to Arian regarding software to be delivered by end of April for the official 2nd year review based on the info you provide in the Technical Roadmap by then. The overall message we want to bring is that there is significant progess on the software we can deliver by end of April (in term of features or new GEs) so reviewers will have enough stuff to review in the 2nd year official review.
