As I told you, we would be very glad if we could arrange a face to face meeting in Brussels during which we can share with you details about current developments in FI-WARE and FI-Lab. As I explained to you, FI-WARE is not the regular EU FP7 research project but rather a project that is targeted to deliver results in a shorter term. One of the areas where we have identified opportunities for early adoption is that of Smart Cities. It is not just the fact that FI-WARE technologies are particularly suitable, but the fact that FI-Lab can be instrumental in setting up an open innovation ecosystem capable to attract cities and entrepreneurs and help to meet each other. Several cities have already started to connect their facilities and open data platforms to FI-Lab (Malaga, Santander, Sevilla and Zaragoza in Spain, Trento and Torino in Italy). Others are approaching us with real interest to join as well. We will be in Brussels on December 18 for a review of the project and maybe it could be a good opportunity to meet on December 19th. Architecture Changes: Description of changes in Architecture during reporting period that helped somehow the uptake/enablement of 3rd parties. 2. Licenses/T&C Status: Diagram/Table showing overview of all WP3 license software assets and T+C info open specs (like in M24 review) and text explaining this 3. FI-WARE Catalog & FI-LAB / Testbedas Status: Diagram/Table showing current state of availability in FI-WARE Catalog and FI-LAB (BUT: Two columns, one is "submitted for approval / available for publication", the other column "approved and published" --> because current pipeline status would otherwise work against WP3 interests :)) 4. Software Releases Status: Exec Summary-like short overview of Software Releases 2 and 3 (as in the reporting period). 5. Example success stories: how the WP3 e.g. for some UC enabled them to work...(optional, or leave out here and refer to reports on UC successes reported somewhere in other deliverables?). Templates for Tables needed: For all, we need templates to have them aligned in the chapter section, give a good overall document impression IMHO and simplifies work for all. The texts explaining these template tables could then be more individual, while I personally also here would recommend some structural text templeates that then more or less is simply filled with text by chapter teams: My opinion: Most of these topics are interesting IMHO for each chapter. I recommend to leave them inside the chapter sections and _not_ move them into a general section in the document, because otherwise no real interesting content would remain to be reported in the chapter sections... And the work can be better distributed. Best wishes Markus ________________________________ Este mensaje se dirige exclusivamente a su destinatario. Have you heard before any other concrete example of this kind of attack based on IoT devices, not only botnet but also hack of data? http://www.proofpoint.com./products/targeted-attack-protection/internet-of-things.php BR Thierry Nagellen Program Manager Future Internet Orange Labs Networks & Carriers 905 rue Albert Einstein 06921 Sophia Antipolis Cedex +33 492 94 52 84 +33 679 85 08 44 _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Ce message et ses pieces jointes peuvent contenir des informations confidentielles ou privilegiees et ne doivent donc pas etre diffuses, exploites ou copies sans autorisation. I hope it's consequence of having the backlog outdated. Therefore, I'd appreciate having it fixed as soon as possible. Otherwise, I'd have no option but to show concern. Thanks for cooperation!! UPDATES REQUIRED FOR Backlog Delivery (due end of December) Find below the number of items needing updates in the different chapters: ? Apps (31 items), Cloud ( 45 items), IoT (40 items), Data (23 items), I2nd (42 items), Sec(4 items), MiWi (27 items) ? I'd appreciate your collaboration to get them updated ASAP otherwise they appear in red in the deliverable. Have updated the reports of the backlog: hot topic (delivery M33) and dashboards. In relation to the FI-LAB and binary/code availability, we have done our guess to complete the information, however, there could be mistakes or gaps. Please, have a look at it and try to fix or complete as much information as you can regarding availability of your chapter GE's in FI-LAB (and how, global instances, images...) and the public availability of binaries and/or source code (out of the PPP) Please, take care of this along today. Best Regards, Sergio. From: FERMIN GALAN MARQUEZ Sent: Thursday, January 23, 2014 12:36 PM To: fiware-ge-owners at lists.fi-ware.eu Cc: FRANCISCO ROMERO BUENO; SERGIO GARCIA GOMEZ; JUAN JOSE HIERRO SUREDA Subject: URGENT ACTION BEFORE EoB TODAY: support information for your GEi for Campus Party challenges Dear GEi owners, As you probably know, Campus Party Brasil takes place next week from (January27th to February 2nd) with a strong FI-WARE presence (more info in the last Monday WPL/WPA meeting minutes here: [2]). In that event, 40 teams will be competing to win in the final round of Smart Business and Smart Cities challenges (more info: [3]). After analyzing the 40 proposals, we have found that a large set of GEs (more than 40) are being considered by the participants. The details can be found in the draft attached attached Excel (this Excel contains confidential information, so you are now allowed to redistribute it outside the FI-WARE team). These are good news as one of the objectives of the challenge for us is that developers use our FI-WARE GEis, but also means that the owners of these GEis should be ready to provide support during the Campus Party to the developers working in the challenges. Thus, as GEi owner, the followings actions are required ASAP: 1. Check if you GEi is in [1], under the "GEi NAME" column. If your GEi is not there, you can ignore the rest of this email. 2. Commit with a support level. The closest to the developers, the better and, in this sense, physical presence at Campus Party is better than online contact (skype, hangout, etc.) than, in sequence, is better than offline support (typically email). We understand that physical presence at Campus Party could be difficult for many GEi owners, due to the date is very close, but it would highly desirable in the case of GEis considered in many proposals. 3. Review the correctness of data in [1]. In some cases, we have filled some data in advance (marked in red) based in the information we have. However, this data could be obsolete or incorrect, so please review it and change color to black to mark is as "revised and correct". If you are not attending to Campus Party use "None" in the "In Campus Party" column. Regarding supporting hours, it is hard to tell when dealing with developers (that use to work all time, even overnight) but based on the information we have, we think that the most of the work will concentrate between January 27th and January 30th (jury will be evaluating proposals and deliberating on January 31st). Take into account the time shift (Brazil is 3 hours before CET). We need you complete the above actions by today EoB. It shouldn't be difficult: just to review and complete 5 cells in a spreadsheet document. If you don't complete that information, we understand that you will not provide support during Campus Party, which could have a negative impact in your GEi (the immediate one: lack of interest on it among developers). Sorry for the rush, but this issue is urgent. Don't hesitate to contact us if you have any doubt, please. Thank you very much for your support! Last week we hadn't even started to work on it (the first planned delivery date was March 14th), and today we're asking for contributions by next Monday (including my review as WPL). Therefore, unless I'm overlooking an important constraint, I would suggest to put off the whole schedule at least by one week. Best Regards, Sergio. Maybe this work for SAP but if I send this to the consortium I am afraid that it will not work. I'd wish they could work! We cannot expect that we will get all the changes, plus the docx plus a first review in one week. Unfortunately I am positive that keeping the 3rd of February will result in most partners not reaching the deadline. Let us go for something still tight but a bit more realistic. My proposal (overall not very radical, it ends just 4 days later) is: 3/Feb/2014 - First draft of contributions by chapter ready for peer review - edition in PRIVATE WIKI - WPL to generate word doc for review 4/Feb/2014 - .docx first version of chapter ready 7/Feb/2014 - Comments on first draft (.docx with traced changes) 13/Feb/2014 - .docx second version of chapters ready for the review of the coordinator From 13 to 21, interactions with the coordinator to refine the docs. 21/Feb/2014 - Final .docx version ready for delivery + delivery to the EC 28/Feb/2014 - Public wiki updated 100% with new architecture & Open Specs conten Best regards, Miguel El 27/01/2014 14:22, Sandfuchs, Thorsten escribi?: Dear colleagues, from our side the following schedule would work for delivering of Open Specifications based on the availability of the open specifications in the private wiki by Friday last week. I marked the dates which needed changes from our side in yellow. The other dates in our opinion do not need changes as anyhow the start review is shortened only by 2 days (as "only" a limited number of partner changes need to be considered, this shouldn't be a problem). Any questions, don't hesitate to ask. Best, /Thorsten 27/Jan/2014 - First draft of contributions by chapter ready for peer review - edition in PRIVATE WIKI - WPL to generate word doc for review 28/Jan/2014 - .docx first version of chapter ready 03/Feb/2014 - Comments on first draft (.docx with traced changes) 07/Feb/2014 - .docx second version of chapters ready for the review of the coordinator From 7 to 17, interactions with the coordinator to refine the docs. 17/Feb/2014 - Final .docx version ready for delivery + delivery to the EC 24/Feb/2014 - Public wiki updated 100% with new architecture & Open Specs contents -- Thorsten Sandfuchs SAP AG | Vincenz-Priessnitz-Strasse 1 | D-76131 Karlsruhe, Germany | www.sap.com Pflichtangaben/Mandatory Disclosure Statements: http://www.sap.com/company/legal/impressum.epx Diese E-Mail kann Betriebs- oder Gesch?ftsgeheimnisse oder sonstige vertrauliche Informationen enthalten. So I used the following statement for the GEs whose development was requested to be stopped at the end of R3.2. In the meantime it only concerns development of IdM GE NSN and IdM GE DT which had features planned for R3.3. As for Malware Detection Service from INRIA it doesn't apply since fully delivered for R3.2. As for Android Vulnerability Assessment it is not a GE but a component of SecMon GE already delivered (for R3.2). So it doesn't apply as well. The planning that leads to delivering of GE Open Specifications by Feb 28 applies: * To GEs implemented by GEis whose owner will stop contributing to activities of the project in month 36 (the list of partners who will leave early was provided by Miguel, please check whether it is accurate) or * To GEs implemented by GEis for which development/packaging activities have been asked to stop as a result of the month 30 review. For the rest of GEs, the planning that leads to delivering of GE Open Specifications by May 5 applies. GEis which were declared that they were not going to be open source or for which the exploitation plan communicated by the owner was not considered convincing enough by the reviewers are the GEis for which development/packaging activities must be stopped. Regarding exploitation plans, Arian clarified me that the only exploitation plans regarding GEis not declared to be open source that were considered convincing enough by the reviewers where those coming from Thales. In other words, the EC and reviewers have asked to stop development/packaging activities on all GEis that had been declared to be non open source at the month 30 review, with the exception of those from Thales. Open Specifications of GEs implemented by GEis in this category should follow the plan that means that the owner should deliver their contribution to the specs by Feb 28. Note that GEis which were not declared to be open source by end of November but whose owner arrived at the month 30 review meeting stating their commitment to deliver them as open source by month 36 were requested to stop development of new features by end of December. However, they were asked to carry out the activities dealing with making the software be available as open source as well as packaging activities. Such activities should be planned to finish by end of March (end of release 3.3) so that an official delivery of the software and related documentation will be planned by month 36. Open Specifications of GEs implemented by GEis in this category can follow the planning that ends by May 5 unless the owner has planned to stop contributing to activities of the project by month 36 in which case they have to deliver their contribution to the specs by Feb 28. GEis which where declared to be open source by end of November or the non-open source GEis developed by Thales (whose exploitation plans were considered convincing enough by the reviewers) are allowed to continue development of pending features. Open Specifications of GEs implemented by GEis in this category can follow the planning that ends by May 5 unless the owner have planned to stop contributing to activities of the project by month 36 in which case they have to deliver their contribution to the specs by Feb 28. I hope this clarifies now who should follow which planning regarding delivery of open specifications Best regards, -- Juanjo ------------- Product Development and Innovation (PDI) - Telefonica Digital website: www.tid.es email: jhierro at tid.es twitter: twitter.com/JuanjoHierro FI-WARE (European Future Internet Core Platform) Coordinator and Chief Architect FI-PPP Architecture Board chairman You can follow FI-WARE at: website: http://www.fi-ware.eu facebook: http://www.facebook.com/pages/FI-WARE/251366491587242 twitter: http://twitter.com/FIware linkedIn: http://www.linkedin.com/groups/FIWARE-4239932 On 28/01/14 12:23, Miguel Carrillo wrote: Dear all, It is time to update the Open Specs and the Open specs APIs to prepare the delivery for the EC. In any cases, as there might be confusions, I will try to add a column to the GE list stating the termination date: * https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AqLSWp0KXaaDdEpLT0RmXzhzbXEtSTVvSE5wX3oyWXc#gid=0 Schedule for those leaving on M36: * 3/Feb/2014 - First draft of contributions by chapter ready for peer review * Edition on PRIVATE WIKI * WPL to generate word doc for review * 4/Feb/2014 - .docx first version of chapter ready * 7/Feb/2014 - Comments on first draft (.docx with traced changes) * 13/Feb/2014 - .docx second version of chapters ready for the review of the coordinator * From 13 to 21, interactions with the coordinator to refine the docs. * 21/Feb/2014 - Final .docx version ready for delivery + delivery to the EC (WPL to put it together) * 28/Feb/2014 - Public wiki updated 100% with new architecture & Open Specs contents Schedule for those staying until M40: * 14/Mar/2014 - First draft of contributions by chapter ready for peer review * Edition in PRIVATE WIKI * Generate word doc for review * 17/Mar/2014 - .docx first version of chapter ready * 24/Mar/2014 - Comments on first draft (.docx with traced changes) * 31/Mar/2014 - .docx second version of chapters ready for the review of the coordinator * From 31/Mar to 28/April, interactions with the coordinator to refine the docs. (note the that Easter is in this interval) * 28/Apr/2014 - Final .docx version ready for delivery + delivery to the EC (WPL to put it together) * 5/May/2014 - Public wiki updated 100% with new architecture & Open Specs contents You can start editing this now on : * https://forge.fi-ware.eu/plugins/mediawiki/wiki/fi-ware-private/index.php/OpenSpecs_v3 I am assuming that the WPL/WPAs will coordinate their WPs and resolve internally the doubts that may arise. All direct edits on the public wiki will be reverted without asking. We will prepare a submission cockpit shortly. Later we will see if we need to add something or we drop it. So this is intentionally postponed * Open Specs. Will we deliver the "early" GEs first of will we just put together all the info and send it just once at the end? The answer is just once on M36.
