Dear PO,

I would like to report on status of the Deliverable D9.1.1 "DevComE Basic Framework" that was due on 31-07-2011.

Unfortunately, we miss the action of sending to you an official message announcing the availability of this deliverable on due time. But the deliverable was available on time.

  As mentioned in the DoW:
The release scheduled in month 3 will comprise an infrastructure, which will provide the following set of tools to R&D activities in FI-WARE (i.e., linked to WP3-8), the FI-WARE testbed and the FI-WARE project as a whole:
• A blog, syndicated with the rest of blogs and able to connect to relevant standard blogs as well as to FI-WARE accounts in relevant social networks such as Twitter or Facebook
• A forge infrastructure integrating a number of tools required such as software/file version control, tracking systems, mailing list management, etc
• Both a private and public Wiki
• A documentation management system
• Tools supporting Agile processes
All of this was available and it's obviously still available. Despite I would consider the blog infrastructure (which actually conform the website at http://www.fi-ware.eu) as something available but not yet being used on a regular basis by members of the project as it is the target goal, the rest is up and working:

 * A FusionForge infrastructure (http://forge.fi-ware.eu) has been setup with all the needed tools. A number of projects have been created within FusionForge to support the different activities of the project. There is a project for each WP, a project for the whole FI-WARE initiative and several additional auxiliary projects. I would invite you to create an account in FusionForge (as all the UC projects are doing to interact with FI-WARE) and then request to join the "FI-WARE" project. This is indeed something that the POs and the reviewers should do sooner or later. Thanks to FusionForge, each FI-WARE WP counts with the following tools (I just mention the ones they are actually using on a daily basis)
    * mailman (each WP has its own mailing list. All mailing lists can be seen at: http://lists.fi-ware.eu/listinfo
    * docman system, enabling sharing documents both privately or to the public. You indeed used this facility to download the "FI-WARE High-level Description" deliverable (from now on publicly referred as "FI-WARE Product Vision")
    * tracker to manage the backlog associated to the corresponding Chapter. You can see how the backlog is being constructed by taking a look at the Project Handbook available on the Wiki (http://wiki.fi-ware.eu)
    * SCM based on Subversion (not all the WPs used this)
 * A public Wiki has been created (is supported by the FusionForge infrastructure and linked to the FI-WARE project under FusionForge). The private Wiki is going to be setup in the coming days (hadn't been necessary yet)
 * The documentation management system is available per project in FusionForge. There is one per chapter WP and one general, being part of the FI-WARE project.
 * Regarding Agile, we evaluated Agilefant but finally decided to rely on a combination of the tracker systems supported by FusionForge in combination with the Wiki. Check the Project Handbook for more details.

By sending this message, where we inform about the URL resources linked to the deliverable, we consider this deliverable as officially submitted.

  Best regards,

  Juanjo Hierro
  Technical Manager and Chief Architect
  FI-WARE project
