I share them with you so that you can add input that may be considered for the discussion during the follow-up confcall. That way, hopefully we will be more effective during the confcall. Some of you were also appointed as caretakers of some of the sections. Please try to update contents before the follow-up confcall so that it is also more effective: * SAP (Axel): sections on "Validation process by UC projects" and "Usage terms and conditions of Open Specifications and FI-WARE GEis (including Open Innovation Lab)" * Carlos Ralli: section on "Enhancement/re-design of the current website for impact creation" * Matteo/Davide: section on "Promotion of FI-WARE within the wider community of developers (includes definition of webinars, 3rd Open Call, etc)" I have also added a regular section on "FI-WARE Testbed" in case we need to address issues regarding the FI-WARE Testbed. I appoint Stefano as caretaker of that section. I hope this way our joint WPLs/WPAs confcalls will become more participative. Last but not least, if you think there is another point we should take care of during our joint WPLs/WPAs follow-up confcalls, please let me know. I must say very few attendance compared to what was expected (only two people were external to FI-WARE and Security Chapter). Something I think we can share with some others who organized webinars (even more that some webinars were cancelled due to few attendance). This happens despite my reminders to UC Projects for them to attend. This is even more disappointed that I did copy the invitation to wpl/wpa mailing and I must say that no one has joined. Jos? who was attended could confirm you. As such I'm very concerned and we should not continue like this even more it has happened so far a number of times (at least within the Security chapter it happened for DH GE and DBA GE ...). In view of this I would ask you to take immediate actions using instruments we have at FI-WARE and FI-PPP level (AB meeting) and you find appropriate for this not to re-occur. Simply because organization of these webinars shouldn't be a waste of time and we definitely have to value them since important for Phase 1 & Phase 2 UC Projects (although not uniquely). Hope you can share and that you will react the way expected for those webinars to gain the audience they should deserve for success of FI-WARE and FI-PPP Programme. In my honest opinion, attendance depends very much on the particular GE being analyzed. I can understand that UC projects in phase 1 are focused on those GEs that are more relevant or imply a higher impact in the way applications are designed/developed. In that respect, the Pub/Sub Context Broker GE or even the Cloud Edge GE are quite relevant because their usage can have huge impact in the Architecture that UC projects design in their applications. Security monitoring is something that I'm afraid is not so relevant for UC projects in phase 1 but UC Trials or the Capacity Building project in phase 2. In general because Security Monitoring is more relevant for a potential FI-WARE Instance Provider, or an application provider, but not for an application developer ... and I'm afraid that UC projects in phase 1 mostly care about needs of application developers. Hope you can share and that you will react the way expected for those webinars to gain the audience they should deserve for success of FI-WARE and FI-PPP Programme. It is in the FI-WARE public Wiki. https://forge.fi-ware.eu/docman/index.php?group_id=7 Currently, within each chapter, we are creating specific folders for each GE where we place the .pptx (and possibly other) files. You are encouraged to store your material there and share the link with anyone asking for it (this way all info is easily reachable for all). We'll be announcing this placeholder by mid next week, so please upload the files ASAP. Talk to you at 11:00am Cheers, -- Juanjo -------- Original Message -------- Subject: Shared minutes for next joint WPLs/WPAs follow-up confcall (December 10th, 11:00am) Date: Wed, 05 Dec 2012 08:57:12 +0100 From: Juanjo Hierro To: fiware-wpl at lists.fi-ware.eu , fiware-wpa at lists.fi-ware.eu Hi, I have already created the shared minutes for our next joint WPLs/WPAs follow-up confcall: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1-Hc5qzZxgSLHaU7o-JROyoOUbN8H-3vOKoZxC7SI7R8/edit For the time being, it is just a copy+rename of the previous minutes, also adding some re-ordering of sections, but contents should be updated prior our next confcall. Indeed, the FI-PPP AB f2f meeting has been reschedule to take place in February 6-7. This means that our joint WPLs/WPAs meeting is confirmed to take place the week of Jan 21th, starting on the Jan 21th. I'm afraid that we may run a little bit out of time if we start on the afternoon of Jan 21th and then leave on the evening of Jan 23th. Actually, my experience dictates that this means in practice that the meeting will close not later than 15:00 because of the time at which people needs to arrive at the airport ... And then two actual dates simply won't be enough. Therefore, my proposal is that we start on Jan 21th 12:00 or even 11:00, thus allowing people to travel the same morning, and we close on January 24th by 15:00pm. Unless I hear of severe objections by many of you, that would be the starting and end date/time. Attendance is mandatory by representatives of the WP who can participate in architecture/technical discussions (WPA and/or WPL and/or anyone designated to represent the WP for the meeting) I will come on Friday with suggestions about the agenda.
