[Fiware-wpl] Generation of document deliverables

Dear WPLs/WPAs,

This is a long message. If I send something long, people complain that it is too long. If I send it concise, they say that I do not provide details. So I choose "long" and then you have all the info you may need together!

This is a message just for the WPLs/WPAs and it does not need forwarding to your teams (you can resend it but I do not think they need it for anything). As you are aware, apart from the software (D.x.2.a) we have to deliver 3 documents per chapter in pdf format extracted form the wiki:

  *   D.x.3.a   Installation and Administration Guide
  *   D.x.4.a   User and Programmers Guide
  *   D.x.5.a   Unit Testing Plan and Report

As we stated in our weekly call, each WPL/WPA is responsible for the generation of the pdf version of the deliverables of his chapter. There is a tutorial here:

  *   http://wiki.fi-ware.eu/How_to_create_pdf_deliverables_from_wiki_pages  (Put particular attention to the utility  to handle pdf files that we mention here, it is very useful)

I remind you that once the 4 deliverables of a given chapter are ready, we will deliver them altogether. That is to say, we will deliver once for Cloud, another time for IOT, etc, etc. Each chapter has their own timing (and may need to explain on an individual basis significant deviations in time with respect to other chapters should it they happen)

===========

  *   Please add entries with your cover pages here: http://wiki.fi-ware.eu/Front_pages_for_deliverables_(wiki_books)
  *   We have created 3 templates (please do not modify them, copy and paste them on your cover pages, replacing all the "X" with the right values - use the "search" facility on the browser, there are more "x"' than it seems)

  *   I see that WP7 have already done it so you can proceed taking them as an example of doing this.

Merging private and public docs
============================
The plugin that we use to generate pdf files does not work with pages from two wikis at the same time. So if you need to merge pages from two wikis because part of the pages are on the public wiki and some others are on a private one, you need to generate two pdf books separately and merge them with the previously mentioned tool to obtain a single doc. In this case my advice is:

  *   Add the cover just to one of them, you are going to use it just once!
  *   Remove the index from both docs, or else you will mix two numberings and it will make no sense

It seems difficult but it is terrible simple. I offer my help if something is unclear but please read this and the online tutorial carefully, there are  6 chapters and only one person on the other side, who also has other commitments !!
