Dear Juanjo, thank you for the presentation of the planned procedure model. In principle, we can agree to the suggested procedure. But actually I cannot imagine, on which basis the WPL's/WPA's will be able to decide, whether a person is a member within PPP or not. Because of this, I would suggest that you - as FI-WARE Coordinator - ask CONCORD to provide a complete list with all PPP partner-companies and the concrete project-members that are assigned to the PPP program by these companies. With this list, it would become very easy for the WPL's/WPA's to decide if it is allowed to grant access or not. If CONCORD is able to provide this list, we are completely fine with the procedure if the WPL's/WPA's use this list to decide if they are allowed to grant access or not. If you have any questions or further suggestions, please let me know. Best regards, Axel From: Juanjo Hierro [mailto:jhierro at tid.es] Sent: Dienstag, 10. Hierro"; fiware-wpl at lists.fi-ware.eu; fiware-wpa at lists.fi-ware.eu Subject: ACTION POINT on SAP regarding safety of place where to submit deliverables marked as PP Hi Axel, This is a reminder to you regarding SAP's position objecting to submit deliverables marked as PP. As we explained to you during the last joint WPLs/WPAs follow-up confcall, SAP has argued that the restricted access collaborative space we had setup to upload deliverables marked as PP didn't provide enough "trust". This collaborative space with restricted access is essentially a separate project in the family of FI-WARE related projects under FusionForge, named as "FI-WARE PPP Restricted". Visibility of content uploaded in this project is as follows: * Wiki is only accessible to members of the project (the "FI-WARE PPP Restricted" project in FusionForge). Here it is where partners are expected to provide guidelines accompanying software, unless in document formant in which case should be available in the SVN system * SVN (where software and accompanying documentation has been asked to be uploaded) is only accessible to members of the project * docman: this is as the docman in rest of projects, i.e., documents can be marked as private in which case they are accessible only to members of the project * rest of tools are not active In order to manage membership to the "FI-WARE PPP Restricted" project, we have tried to find out a trade-off between avoiding to become a bottleneck while keeping the process "in the hands of people we can trust". Therefore, we only add WPLs and WPAs initially to the project and we only assign Admin privileges to them, you, Miguel Carrillo and myself (we two, merely as backups). Admin users are the only ones that would then have the right to accept membership requests and assign a profile to new members (they should assign them a profile of "Senior Developer") we have asked them to avoid accepting anyone they don't trust and do not belong to their team. Once we have managed membership requests as to be able to upload all deliverables marked as PP, we should establish a process to handle requests coming from other parties in the FI-PPP program. My understanding is that this should be handled by the "cooperation team" we established, i.e., you and Carlos, asking WPLs and WPAs to stay apart from that process. This looks all reasonable to us and apparently to other WPLs/WPAs but I'm still not sure whether it looks reasonable to SAP (maybe all this mess was due to a misunderstanding because someone may have interpreted that anyone with an account in FusionForge has access to all projects, which is false). If SAP still has objections on the formula above, it should come with some suggestions on what to do. And should come soon.
