[Fiware-wpl] New Template/Example - Chapter Review-presentations - Available in Fi-WARE (private) Wiki

Thanks, Carlos.

Regarding Issues slide -- I wonder whether we should focus on things
specific to each WP, and consolidate the general ones in the overview
presentation, rather than repeating in each WP presentation. I think most
if not all the issues you've mentioned are applicable to all the WPs. This
way we can free up more time for WP-specific updates.

Also, regarding slide $3.. I see that in most cases a raw refers either to
a single GE (which is also mentioned in the row description), or to all
the GEs. In both cases, I wonder whether having the columns adds any
information (compared to just having bullets, for example).

Regards,
Alex

Subject: New Template/Example - Chapter Review-presentations -
Available in Fi-WARE (private) Wiki

Hi All,

I took into account Alex and others proposals/suggestions so I come up
with a first draft of WP6 slides that may work as new reference template
for all.

Find this at:
https://forge.fi-ware.eu/docman/view.php/27/1677/FI-WARE+WP6+Data-Context+Chapter_Draft_v1_20121125.pptx

I let the symbols and remarks in yellow so the template info is available.
At the same time most of the text for Data chapter is final and therefore
an actual example.

Alex, I generalized the achievements (from features to achievements/goals)
and now we can describe not only results related to GEs but to any subject
you want (including GEs too, in the way I did for Data).
In the last slide I removed Highs/Lows/issues titles, I let only two and I
hope the new names give a better sense of our work.

Please, upload your contributions following the template in the same
placeholder (Private Wiki: Reviews->  201211-Review-M18 ).

Best regards,
--

Few comments on the template.

Slides 2-4: I totally agree that we need to cover major achievements
during M13-M18, as well as main focus areas for M19-M24 (including goals
for the second release). But I think a more free-form format would be more
appropriate in many cases. We need to remember that target audience is
mainly the reviewers, and they are interested in lots of things other than
features of individual GEs. Different WPLs might want to put emphasis on
different things, and having such a strict format is somewhat too
restrictive. Mapping to epics/features/etc is important, but is just a
tool, and not the goal.
Suggestion: have 2-3 slides on "Achievements during M13-M18", and another
1-2 slides on "Focus Areas for M19-M24". Leave the format up to the WPL.
Slide 5: "highs" should be part of "achievements" above, no need to
duplicate. Moreover, I would recommend removing "lows" -- they are
typically non-productive for the discussion.
Suggestion: keep just "Issues" (in a way "lows" should be largely covered
by "issues"), and make a table including also "Importance", "Status" (some
WPLs may decide to include issues which already have been resolved) and
"Resolution Approach".
Regards,
Alex

Ok, Just do it, upload then your .ppt to the same placeholder and we will
harmonize in the review.

Same message for Pierangelo.

It is good to have a template, but some flexibility is needed too.

However, I would try to keep the slides as minimun as necessary because
there are 10min for each talk.

IMHO, it is better now to focus on working the slides out based on the
template so we do not create a bottleneck.

Hi Carlos,

One immediate comment from my side I think slide 4 should be about
features roadmapping for not only GEs which have been delivered but also
GE to come for second release ?.

With this respect I though we could reuse the template of slide 2 & 3 to
report on this (roadmap for GEs features ?). But here we may request maybe
one more slide to have it done.

More comments will come.

Dear Colleagues

Find in the following link a template/example for the Chapter
presentations in next week's review.

https://forge.fi-ware.eu/docman/view.php/27/1662/FI-WARE+WPx+Data+Chapter_Draft_v1_20121122.pptx

You comments/feedback are welcomed.
As there's not so much time available, whenever you have a suggestion,
please do change the template yourself and upload the new version in the
same location.

Thanks,
Best regards,
