[Fiware-wpl] R: [Fiware-wpa] Proposal for improvements in the backlog (tracker + wiki)

Dear Manuel,

Please find below some comments (including questions which might sound silly, apologise for them but I'm still not familiar with a number of things concerning the wiki) from my side concerning the proposals you sent us.


1.       In slides 6 and 7 it is said to 'take advantage of categories': is there a specific reason for this, and are some of those category pages automatically generated (I found e.g. that AppsFeature is automatically generated, while the I2NDFeatures is still empty, should we trigger something to generate them)?

2.       Tracker view: in slide 9 are shown the pop up controls for three fields, i.e. Backlog Entry Type, Release ID and Sprint Id. I was and still am one of the most convinced supporters of this improvement (particularly for release and Sprint ID), because the current implementation results in an error prone procedure. However, when trying to modify the I2ND tracker I couldn't find a way to 'promote' the Release ID and Sprint ID fields from 'text box' to 'pop up' list. Do you know how this can be addressed?

3.       Slide 10: backlog item status. Although additional status items allow a more detailed control of ticket evolution and possible critical situations, they might add complexity (and time devoted) to ticket management. I would vote for having them, but without mandatory constraints to use all of the possibilities (i.e. if we find comfortable with current open-under execution-close states only, we should be allowed to continue using them as we did in the past).

4.       Slide 11: In I2ND I have introduced the extra item 'I2ND - General' as 'FI-WARE Generic Enabler' option,  to be adopted for all those tickets which are not relevant to a single GE, but rather to the entire chapter. Therefore, I would be in favour of adopting the same for all chapters. However, since we don't have yet many tickets using this, if the majority of WPL/WPAs prefers to use 'none' I'll  switch back to it as well.

5.       Slides 12-13: Are the graphical views created by you (or Miguel), or Is their creation under responsibility of WPL/WPAs?

I know you all are very busy preparing the deliverables but I need to progress on improving the backlog. I understand this progress will be more consistent with good consensus level, therefore I would appreciate having your feedback.

Please, Axel - WP3, Thierry/Carlos - WP5, Sergio - WP6, Pierangelo - WP7 and Pascal - WP8, share your feedback and let me know whether there's need for me to ask Miguel for a timeslot on Monday for explaining it, or discussing specific point you may consider more interesting.

Some steps are already undertaken, as the simplification of the wiki view.  Some others I'm already working on.

I wonder whether you would require a presentation/discussion where the proposal could be explained/clarified/enriched, meanwhile you can also send additional comments.
