[Fiware-wpl] WPL/WPA agenda - SAP's issue on the backlog

Hi Thorsten,

You're welcome!!

Let me say I essentially disagree with the 'excluding' approach SAP proposes, and I'm in favour of the 'explaining' approach, which I think it's the right approach.
Under the explaining approach we could add views by partners, then it would become evident that those belonging to Ericsson couldn't be fixed, or time views, to identify where the items with issues are placed, and explaining why they aren't fixed.

Anyway, it's up to the management board to decide.

Kind regards,
Manuel

Hi Manuel,
thanks for driving this forward, although I like to emphasize that we do not have "issues on the backlog" - we brought forward "proposals which are tailored to improve the quality of the backlog and related backlog-quality insurance processes" and that this is not "SAP" alone, as there are already positive reactions from other work packages, concerning the proposals.

And I'm sure that you will as well consider bringing forward the last proposal that we brought forward:

Proposal: improving the backlog-calculation-mechanism in relation to the "&" sign-problem. It should not be counted as "issue" any more with negative effects for the chapters. (SAP proposed at least 4 distinct and possible solutions to circumvent this)

Thanks and best regards,

                                                                              /Thorsten

Subject: [Fiware-wpa] WPL/WPA agenda - SAP's issue on the backlog

Hi Miguel,

I'd appreciate you made a time slot on Monday's agenda for SAP to explain their issues on the backlog, and votes could be taken on their proposals. I'll prepare the corresponding doodle pages.

The proposals are the following:

1. Not to fix issues on 'old' items. Concretely belonging to R1 and R2

2. Exclude backlog tests on items from partners withdrawn from the project

3. Exclude backlog tests on arbitrary items according to WP Leader criteria

If the agenda allows including this issue, SAP will be explaining them on detail on Monday.
On my side I understand the context demands focussing attention on others matters, however I have no other option but to send you this request.

Thanks in advance!
Kind regards,
Manuel
