Dear colleagues,
let me update as well the statistics as of the version, which we will hand over on Wednesday.

I as well compiled some small pivot-chars as shown below. The numbers are generated out of the public catalog & it reflects the stats that the reviewers will find in the printed version - but for the review itself we might even increase the numbers another time, if your chapters expose more/stronger information on the catalog! :)

Let me summarize a few messages:

- We have a strong mix of commercially exploitable open source assets (Apache & BSD licenses) which take >50% of the GEs, which release to open source (54%)

- We have a lot of Testbed instances up and running, despite the tools chapter which intentionally is not planning to put it's GEs on the testbed in virtual images in most of the cases

- We have 54 GEs which are subscribing to the Terms and Conditions of the FI-Lab

- We have 44 GEs which provide open souce assets - lead by Apps and cloud chapter

- ....

You can just grap the numbers and charts attached to this excel and play around with them as well... as said: we can update them anytime as they are generated automatically from the raw data - if you want to dig deeper into some of the numbers, just use the tab "raw data" and filter out the values that you might need for your analysis.

Any questions, don't hesitate to ask :)

Best regards,
                                                               /Thorsten

Dear colleagues,
I updated the current statistics... there were some changes from a content level and a lot in the layout :)

We are now detecting more subscribing to "FRAND", have more download links, more current software versions expose, a new Open Source licence reveiled...

Very well done - hope the latest changes from today will make it into the final submission by tomorrow moring!

Best,
                                                               /Thorsten

Dear colleagues,

please find attached the most current and verbose status and statistics directly generated out of the catalog.

The more verbose version is attached in XSL version and help to dig deeper - there might be still errors. The method I used was: I grep some text out of the various tabs and search e.g. for the licenses or try to dig out if somebody says something about "support".

You can click on the GE-name in colum A to navigate to the respective catalog-entry and via the "normal" excel mechanism you can easily filter out specific parts of this analysis.

What strikes to my mind from the bear numbers:

Rather positive

- Good distribution of commercially-exploitable licenses (Apache/BSD) and more stricterlicenses like *GPL

- For 14 GEs there seems to be a hint on support models after FI-WARE

- "only" 6 GEs mention that they will in future define external availability

Rather negative

- There are "only" 7 GEs which say something about "FRAND" (I just grepped 'FRAND' in capital letters)

- We have 10 GE which not "even" have downloads

- We "only" have 7 GEs which have defined an instance-endpoint in the FI-LAB

- Testbed 49 out of 67 still is not very high number

Any additions/comments/questions or errors you might find, please let me know to update the statistics!

Best,

                                                               /Thorsten
