Dear partners,

We can say that now we have a product-like release with FI-Lab and release 2.2.3, and that we are working on the beta version which is release R3.X, but we are not organized to communicate in this way to our customers (developers, SMEs...)

The main risk we have now is that someone try to use a R2.3 instance with a doc from Release 3.1... With the wiki we lost a kind of traceability through the different minor and major releases and that could be a major failure.

In the catalogue descriptions, we have links to Unit Test Plans and Product Guides which are related to R2.3 but partners are working on them and we should not continue using private deliverables if we want to be more reactive.

One of the simplest way I've identified to solve this issue is the use of PDF files we did for reviewers for release 2.3. Sometimes, requirements from reviewers could help us!
If we provide the link in the catalogue description, documentation folder with the title release 2.3 - stable, we could continue using the link to the wiki with the title release 3.1 - beta version.

In the same way, at the end of September (in 2 weeks) we should deliver R3.1.3, so "stable" version of R3.1. Of course this minor release will not be so stable and I'm really in favor of keeping Release 3 at the beta status till the end of the project... BUT we could deliver beta version in the file space on the forge for the Use Case projects, developers and SMEs, to show that we are working properly and that FI-Ware products are not published only once a year!

In this case, having the 2 entries in the catalogue, release 2 and release 3 requires having 2 documentations.

I think it is not very difficult to put in place and this should save us regarding some potential failure in release 3. A simple solution to manage easily next steps during the last 7 months of the project.

Please feel free to comment
