Dear all,

This email intends to summarize the status regarding our presence at CeBIT. Please also check APs at the end of the email.

As I already informed to you, this was due to a deal that the FI-Content2 project and us (FI-WARE) made with CeBIT organization.

Essentially, we have been able to book a full day within the space labeled "Future talk" within CeBIT to be devoted to the FI-PPP, particularly to address promotion of the FI-WARE/FI-Lab brands (maybe also FI-Ops, this will depend very much on whether we made some deal with XiFi in this respect) as well as promotion of FI-Content2 results. "Future talk" is a new space within CeBIT intended to work as an "innovations talk shop will be hosting more than 100 lectures, live presentations, panel discussions and project demonstrations, providing an outstanding overview of current research findings and the technological standards of the future" in words of CeBIT.

"Future talk" will occupy a quite relevant big space at CeBIT. You can find some maps attached to this mail. It comes with an auditorium/stages for speeches with up to 100 seats for the audience.

Pricing looked rather reasonable. I'm talking by heard but I believe it was overall 12.000 € to be shared among the two projects, which was quite reasonable given the fact that we are talking about CeBIT. We'll have to cover some additional costs such as flat screens and the like but should not go much higher. I assume this special prize comes because "Future talk" is kind of a new space within CeBIT that organizers wish to promote.

The event will take place on Wednesday, March 12th. The agenda of the event is already published at CeBIT's website:
http://www.cebit.de/event/future-talk/SON/56233
(You have to scroll down and then select the date)

The event will be organized as:

  * A program of speeches given at the stage
  * A space with up to 7 tables to deal with face2face conversations with people who attend the speeches and then wish to get into further details with any of the contents (kind of exhibition area):
     * one table to provide general info about the FI-PPP, FI-WARE, FI-Lab and FI-Content2
     * 3 tables on topics to be covered by FI-WARE
     * 3 tables on topics to be covered by FI-Content2

There is a shared google doc spreadsheet where you will be able to find:

  * Agenda of speeches (this as per today matches what has been published by CeBIT on the website)
  * Description of topics per table

  You can find it at:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AoNGoA5Ii_6cdC1XRVZnVnp1TFhUcktUaUROMldKQ3c#gid=0

You should consider the agenda and contents of topics for the tables still as drafts. However:

  * One of the slots on the agenda, as well as tables on the exhibition area should be assigned to talk about media-related GEs, in particular those dealing with real-time multimedia stream processing and web-based advanced UI (3D and Augmented Reality). This is mostly to create a smooth transition and to better illustrate the links between FI-WARE and FI-Content2.
  * Given the fact that several of the winners of the FI-WARE Challenges came with quite interesting and professional applications, I'm currently considering to devote a space, both in the program of speeches and the exhibition area to testimonies from the SMEs/startups involved. This will allow us to bring the message that we are offering stuff that is actually useful for them. On the other hand, this will give this SMEs/Startup opportunity to promote their apps (win-win). I'm in conversations with some of them to cover this.

Nuria (ATOS) Ogilvy and us are coordinating to produce and bring the necessary communication material (flyers, posters, etc).

  Some APs:

  * @All: I would like to know who will attend the event and could be available to provide support during the event (tables on the exhibition area)
  * @All: Any comments on the agenda or contents for the tables are welcome but we will need to close this quickly
  * @Christof: Please confirm attendance from team working on web-based advanced UI GEs (please bring Philipp on the loop) and get back with some concrete proposal regarding contents of speech (already reserved slot) and the exhibition table to discuss in our next WPLs/WPAs confcall.
  * @Sergio: Please confirm attendance from team working on real-time media stream processing and get back with some concrete proposal regarding contents of speech (already reserved slot) and the exhibition table to discuss in our next WPLs/WPAs confcall.
  * @Christof/Sergio: Please note that the teams covering real-time media stream processing and the team covering the web-based 3D and AR GEs may need to share slot/table on the stage as well as table on the exhibition area. I would advise that some material is produced (flyers, etc) that describe this GEs but PLEASE, I won't accept that such material comes without FI-WARE/FI-Lab branding. This is not about the GE owners selling their stuff without putting it within the overall context.

I believe that is all, let's discuss over email before the WPLs/WPAs confcall.

  Best regards,

-- Juanjo
