[Fiware-wpl] Deliverable owners for Delivrables moved to M40: You might have M36 partners who only contribute until M36. Please act now.

Dear WPLs,

  This is actually a rather important question: WPLs have to make sure that all partners who are planning to stop contributing to the project by end of month M36 deliver their contributions to any deliverable now re-planned for month 40 well in advance.

  Best regards,

Dear all,

This is a request for action for all deliverable leads (WPLs please forward accordingly so that all are reached. I for now wanted to avoid mailing to fi-ware-all and see if we can get along with it since its internal organization maybe on WPL level enough).

As you know, some deliverables are to be moved from M36 until later M40 within the 6th DOW amendment. I refer to the "cross-chapter" deliverables here most (e.g. WP1, WP2, WP11, WP12) but not restricted to it. Also in the same amendment, some partners will announce that they stop any / some activities at the end of M36 while they still need to contribute to deliverables moved to M40 according to their DOW commitments until before 6th amendment. This causes need for very careful organization of deliverable generation in my opinion.

According to my understanding, no separate deliverables at M36 followed by new line of deliverables at M40 are planned by coordinator at this moment. Instead, as discussed in WPL/WPA telcos, my conclusion is that each deliverable owner is advised to make sure by on his own that "his" deliverable is completed by both partners (a) stopping in M36 and (b) partners extending until 40.

I encourage us to make sure that organization of each deliverable starts now (at least to plan M36 stopping partner contributions) since only 2.5 months are left.

Here my proposal how we can do this, comments and improvements as always needed:

In my current understanding, this problem needs to be addressed by each deliverable lead and by the leaving partners. For example, we in SAP plan to stop activities at M36 and cannot contribute after M36 to your deliverable. According to my understanding, it is the duty of the deliverable lead to organize that each leaving/stopping partners has successfully delivered a valid contribution to his deliverable. For this to be possible, the deliverable lead may need to organize your Table of contents (TOC) now and allow the stopping partners to contribute accordingly. You as deliverable lead are responsible that pieces fit together and are well integrated when your final integrated version of your deliverable is submitted to EC around M40.

@Each deliverable lead:

- I ask each deliverable lead to please check ASAP if he has FI-WARE partners who leave at M36 in the list of his contributors (SAP with all contributions is one example, similar partners not known by me).

- If yes, please approach these companies on your initiative and assign a task ASAP to deliver a contribution to your deliverable until M36 - say 1.April latest as example.

- Each deliverable owner needs to review these earlier contributions and either accept the contribution or reject with review results to the contributor - say 15.April latest.

- You as deliverable lead _and_ each M36 stopping partners have to together achieve a valid / accepted contribution within end of April 2014 prior to their stopping.

Please if needed comment to mailing list if ok or how we can better organize this. If needed.

Please contact me from your side while at the same time I try to find you as contact and approach you directly.

Best wishes
Markus
