Dear all, I took informal notes of the feedback from the reviewers that I share especially with those that left earlier (feel free to complement). They will send a shorter report compared to the past (not focused on specific feedback for each deliverable). Positive points * FIWARE has grown up; one of the few projects that has reached a different level (it is not a standard FP7 project) * The consortium has grown up taking responsibility of what it is doing * It has been a long journey, a lot of learning along the journey (also from the mistakes)...but this has not ended yet * Technical development overall is fine; reports are professionally presented: better conclusions, English has improved a lot... * Business commitment (shown by the announcement in MWC); this has increased visibility. This should be the starting point of the story. However we srill see a lot of FP7. This brings the concern of what will happen when there is no more funding (after FI-CORE) * Documentation has improved a lot * New idea is the bundles: they make sense and have been put nicely * The story about Internet of Things and Smart Cities make sense; this does not mean that the rest should be ignored, but the focus now makes sense * The involvement of Ogilvy shows that the professional approach matters Not-so positive points (recommendations) * Priority is uptake and sustainability via the open source community o One group to consider is Technology developers: use cases are included here, since they can contribute to GE, new GE, improved catalogue, SE, feedback to existing GE o Another group is adopters: this includes SMEs and start-ups of the accelerators; they require a different kind of support. Installation has to be improved, automated...these guys will not tolerate long responses * Help desk and support should be done professionally. * This should have been included in the sustainability plan of FIWARE and should be then executed by FI-CORE * How to convince other organizations to join the group of drivers (ex. Bosch, which was mentioned). Use case projects could be used here, since they have companies that have used GE an could have convincing cases * Documents created by WP11 (exploitation) should be taken into consideration (the purpose is not to create a "nice" document per se) * Open Source community: Ogilvy has done very good work in terms of marketing, but a lot else needs to be done (working groups, forums, exchange of views and so on and so forth) * About the number of GE...a lot of variations around that. Maybe not the 41 should be supported (maybe yes)...but a mechanism will be needed to control the fact that new GE will emerge, some may not be so interesting anymore and the ecosystem will be dynamic. Food for thought... Finally they congratulated us for the successful completion of the project.
