Dear FI-WARE WP3 colleagues, I invite you to a special edition of a WP3 Call. Background: - Today I attended a first telco on Workshop/Contest Planning for Campus Party. I forward the Meeting Minutes for your information from today's telco in a separate e-mail. - There will be a follow-up meeting Wednesday 17.7. 16-18:00 on driving forward the Workshop/Contest Decisions for Campus Party. Please join if you want, I can forward MR to interested parties (but as prerequisite I recommend registering on Campus Party mailing list in this case to stay tuned). This telco's Agenda will be one an action point for me/us to clarify our WP3 position on the following idea which was raised today during the call. The idea is for the Workshop 2 (Working Title "Cloud Computing") if WP3 would like to do something around an idea (please read meeting minutes for Workshop 2 to understand better). The idea would be as follows, quoting Juanjo: "We may also try to introduce one of the other services that we intend to expose in the FI-WARE OIL Portal, which is the one that has to do with the Store. That way explaing how, once you have develop and deployed an application in our Cloud, you could offer it through the Store. My only concern is that we shouldn't work with "real money" here because FI-WARE OIL is not intended to support commercial services ... but maybe we could implement some sort of "virtual money" that only works at the Campus Party, so that people is given a certain "money", which will be assigned when they create their accounts and would only exist as long as theC ampus Party lasts (although we may consider extending the lifetime afterwards). Then, campuseros could "buy" applications with that virtual money. It would even be useful as input for the prizes (consider apps who have been bought by more people). However, we have to think carefully about this because I don't know to what extend we would have everything ready for the Campus ... What do people think about this "mad/wild" idea about the Store with virtual money ? Again, the input from Futura Networks would be rather useful about whether something like this would help us to raise awareness or may seem too complicated." But I recommend that we schedule this meeting to develop a joint opinion on this idea. I can also report on Workshop 1 in the meeting, and our possible contributions there.
