Dear WP3, We have completed the FI-WARE Review yesterday where Torsten Leidig, Thorsten Sandfuchs and I attended from WP3 side. · As a punch line and overall motto from him for us, Arian closing statement at the end of EC/Reviewer Statement Session at the end of the review was: "Work has improved - Don't lean back". · Let me first THANK YOU for your work and results for the WP3 preparation of the Review, I personally think the efforts in preparing the different input slides was well invested. · For WP3 effort spending / financial I received no direct questions for WP3 components (I received questions for EAB withdrawal and DT reduction and answered them). · We presented in our APPS slot to reviewers (15 minutes or so instead of 30 minutes, use case slides were not presented in detail / almost not, but on voice track a bit). Focus of questions for WP3 slot was on GEs in releases, testbed, and most importantly, the OIL planning. Further questions we have received in the WP3 APPS slot: - EAB - was the store re-implemented or the architecture and spec being reused? ð architecture and open spec are vital part of ... - EAB - reuse of composition? ð Not removed currently, will furthermore see on how to go forward - Open spec problem? ð We will see - DT - is it on the catalogue? ð Yes Main Focus and Tasks for WP3 for the next weeks (please add): 1) Industry partner in WP3: As stated in Juanjo's notes from the review meeting (forwarded to you in my separate mail on this): Work urgently on private exploitation plans (!!!)- GE's: GE providers work on their GEs and towards availability in testbed. 2) Industry partners in WP3: Work on terms of use for OIL (with your legal departments). 3) Plan for OIL: We need to wait a bit for concrete plans from TID here (which needs to be accelerated in my personal opinion so that we can prepare better). Juanjo will send a plan for this in the next few days. Prepare and decide per company what you want to do in OIL / support / etc. Note: On WPL/WPA lists, we have today triggered an activity to gather and distill meeting minute notes from the meeting participants, after consolidation this can be shared also. Please see Thorsten's mails below on this. Best wishes Markus From: Sandfuchs, Thorsten Sent: Freitag, 14. Please be aware of the discussion that we are starting on WPL/WPA level and prepare yourself or you company contacts for the relevant work ahead. I think there will be a separate communication from the project management team, but just to be sure I thought it might make sense to directly approach you with this as well. Best, /Thorsten From: fiware-wpa-bounces at lists.fi-ware.eu<mailto:fiware-wpa-bounces at lists.fi-ware.eu> [mailto:fiware-wpa-bounces at lists.fi-ware.eu] On Behalf Of Sandfuchs, Thorsten Sent: Freitag, 14. Juni 2013 11:49 To: fiware-wpa at lists.fi-ware.eu<mailto:fiware-wpa at lists.fi-ware.eu>; fiware-wpl at lists.fi-ware.eu<mailto:fiware-wpl at lists.fi-ware.eu> Subject: [Fiware-wpa] exploitation plans of industry partners - gathering the needed information and requirements from EC Dear colleagues, I'd like to share my notes in relation to the exploitation plan-request/recommendation communicated by the EC. Please add your points or possible corrections to my notes in order to unify the potential submission a bit. In the end this consolidated "requirements" and the concrete plan needs to be communicated ASAP to the pcc or all industry partners on WP level Thanks for contributions & all the best, /Thorsten Juanjo notes: - Formal request by the EC: Each company has to submit their individual exploitation plans in few weeks. Even those who said they would not be different to the already submitted (a letter stating so would be enough). Don't need many pages, just some paragraphs. Information will be treated as confidential. Further notes and background how it was communicated - Recommendation by EC o Individual exploitation plans would be changed if requested - tour de chamber was made - most companies said they would change o That is what needs to be done § Timing: 3 weeks from "now" - max 2 pages. § Submission deadline would then be 05. July 2013 (right?) o Basically - from everybody on the consortium o If partner won't change it - just send the current one - that's fine o EC would like to know what your plans are - how seriously are you with the whole thing? Further comments that were made during the review (day before) to this topic: - JH: we have exploitation plan which are in common but will have addition internal plans o "This statement is not written anywhere, and needs to be submitted and accepted by the EC" - Reviewer: If exploitation plans are declared confidential, then they potentially can't be reviewed and accepted o JH: other project support the confidential nature of exploitation plan - NK meeting on C-level o Arian saw the meeting and it was not concrete enough to him o Exploitation plan: If nobody gets killed, then we will continue... this is not how it should be - Needed: o Budget & people dedicated to exploitation planned and committed o Budget dedicated people and efforts to describe exploitation effort in a report and not only a plan o Exploitation reports are not tangible now, they need a lot to be detailed o Private exploitation sessions proposed/accepted o Something that proves activities - Arian: We are mostly targeting the time after FI-WARE with this question o Impression of EC: Big players in major countries and little true traction felt from the report & no actions taken -- Thorsten Sandfuchs -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
