Hi Koen,

Yes, the testers since were to be chosen, but please recall, that now after the deadlines have passed) the testing plan is fix, please see: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AqLSWp0KXaaDdDBPb2gwYm11aUVQZzBPU3ZZZHowREE&usp=docslist_api#gid=0
--> You iminds will be tested by TI and THALES according to this table. Please contact them asap, according to the mails from Stefano (primary) (and me with forwards of his mail) on this where I wrote what else to do. I recommend to just let them test asap, afterall it's not important who tests (should be a stranger to your GES anyhow) but the deadline now is near this week.

The basic idea of this whole testing exercise is simple: This replaces the Lutz-Schubert-test so that FI-WARE people test their own FI-WARE stuff among ourselves. My private note, it will be evaluated per GE by Arian/EC (assumption)

--> A tester gets the info where yto find your GE (e.g. you point him to catalog), and gets only the installation manuals etc that you have written. He tries to follow them and you ask him that tester fills out report on his trial. Stefano and WP10 have decided on this template and on these single points, and the tester needs simply to enter the data and return to you. You retrun then to (was not swritten), I recommend, per mail to Stefano (primary) and me CC.

You decide on your own which version to test (this GE version data is part of the testing plan) and communicate to your testers.
You previously had to submit this to me so that it was then to be put into the testing plan online.
Please send your missing data directly to Stefano now (as I do not have a google doc account....) and me in CC.

> Deadlines for tests to be completed:

Please see only Stefano's mail below at the start of his mail thread with the testing instructions and the deadline set by him (green below in Stefanos Mail):

"within 25 april 2014 all the installations and tests must be completed either by the organisations leaving the project at m36, and by those organisation if a test assigned to them involve a gei owned by an organisation leaving the project at m36.
3. all the remaining installations and tests must be fulfilled by 30 june 2014."

Best
Markus

Hi Markus,

When will this testing take place and what will be tested in there?
Will the GE be installed according to the installation manual?
Will all tests be run on this installed GE or only the last R3 test cases?

best regards,
Koen

Hi Koen,

Yes, you can decide in the first place (is best). If you have no candidates, I am asked to assign someone according to process (worse IMHO)....

So yes, please name a partner - inside or outside WP3, everyone can do it basically. Some partners can test more than 1 and some partners may not test at all (if everything is fine with the balance or so), but each GE should be tested (or justified why not, see below Stefanos requirements).

Markus

Dear Markus,

For the business modeler and business calculator, the latest 3.3.3. version is available for testing,
and all manuals have been updated on the private wiki as well and they can be found linked under the R3 deliverable listing.
I have named all tests with a number indicating the release they were available and useable so testers can quickly proceed to the right tests.

Do I understand correctly that we should ourselves decide who should test our stuff?
Or should we indicate what we want to have tested and/or what we want to test?
For this last case, a random assignment of a test will be OK for me.

best regards,
Koen

Hi,

...and please fill our your entry row for your GEs, that's why I have copied the table.

Do not edit it on Google Docs (I do not know if you have write access anyway....). I nevertheless cannot edit the google docs myself since I have no google account, so I will send a compiled E-Mail later to Stefano.

Instead, please do me the favor to just write back your table entries to me in an email until 15:00 today, I put it together.

How to fill in your table row --> I add help how to fill out the entries, from Stefano:
- "Release to test:" Example= ?? (a YES/NO, a date when released so that a tester can start?, ...)
the exact version number of the gei under test. this should be the latest completely available at the moment of test, e.g. 3.x.x. this field should be filled by the tester, but agreed with the wpl

- "Testing applies?": Example= ?? (no clue... a Name, a YES/NO, a report of the testing...?)
"YES" if the gei is oss, so intsllation and deployment test can be made, otherwise "NO". this field should be filled by the wpl

- "testing on FI-LAB": Example= ?? (no clue... a Name, a YES/NO, a report of the testing...?)
"YES" if the gei, either oss or not, is equipped with recipes for installation in fi-lab, otherwise "NO". this field should be filled by the wpl

- "Assigned tester:" Example= TID, ENG or Markus Heller (SAP) - person or company?
certainly the name of the company. if you also have already the name of the person responsible for the test, greater!

Hi WP3,

We have to carry out the installation and usage tests according to the mail from Stefano below. I as WPL are asked to manage this process.

For a first round, please mail me until deadline Friday today 15:00 which 1 (or 2) partners you propose to test your GE (1-2 tests, minimum 1 test) - as I have a task until today EOB to send them to Stefano.
Regardless of being Open Source or not, you are asked to have your GE testes as described below, so nomination of test partner is no problem and we can sort out details later also.

Fallback: If you cannot mail, I will assign WP3 partners for you in a fair manner. We can then reassign later next week until Wednesday where needed.

If you are in Easter Holidays next week, please act today asap and mail to me who tests your stuff (approved by him or not)

Best
Markus

Subject: [Fiware-wpa] URGENT: GEis installation and test
 dear all,
as discussed yesterday during our call and refined this morning in the wp10 call, here is the procedure to install and test the geis as requested in the scope of recommendation 18 of the review report 6 excerpt of which is "Obviously, hardly any of the documentation can claim completeness in the remaining time, but should at least cover all known grounds. To this end, extensive and directed installation and usage tests should be performed - not only through the Use Case projects, but also within the consortium. For example, partners not involved in the development of a specific Generic Enabler can verify it through installation and testing. The according results and findings should be incorporated in the forthcoming Release 3 and the validation reporting of deliverable D10.5.3."

the wpl migth already have received at this time an invitation from me to access a googledoc (here again the link for your convenience: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AqLSWp0KXaaDdDBPb2gwYm11aUVQZzBPU3ZZZHowREE&usp=docslist_api#gid=0)
this doc contains all the geis implemented at the moment or in the very near future.

1. each wpl must, within this friday (11 april 2014), fill, in agreement with their wp participants, the name of the organisation responsible for installing a testing a specific gei. in addition the wpl should declare which geis will be tested. the overal rules are:
1.1 no geis of wp4 for what concerns fi-lab installation and test
1.2 only the geis of wp7 which do not require special network environment
1.3 no geis for which do not exist an oss version

2. within 25 april 2014 all the installations and tests must be completed either by the organisations leaving the project at m36, and by those organisation if a test assigned to them involve a gei owned by an organisation leaving the project at m36.

3. all the remaining installations and tests must be fulfilled by 30 june 2014.

the installation and tests must be documented using the form described in the attached document.

please note that, as you can easily guess from point 1 above, there are two different kind of installations to be tested:
1. manual deplyoment, which involves all oss released geis
2. recipes supported deployment in the fi-ware testbed. this case the person making the test must create a vm, which should be removed immediately after the installation and test is completed (due to the obvious resource cosumption)

it would be great if the persons who will make the installation and tests are completely outside the fi-ware environment.

this procedure refines and superseeds what sent by thorsten, thank you for triggering the process, on last wednesday.

for any clarification you migth need, please do not hesitate to contact me.

ciao,
stefano
