Dear Alex at all,
We are working in the definition of the windows related to the Monitoring
part of the Cloud Portal, we are prepared some slides that we could show
in details in Haifa meeting if you want (attached to this email).
How you can see, and how we discuss previously, there was an interest
for your part that the monitoring GE will provide information of monitoring
about the physical host. I could include some type of alerts maybe.
The question is that after taking conversations with the testbed team I notice
that there is an intention to use Nagios in order to offer this functionality
(correct me if I am wrong) and with it, offers also its own admin portal to it.
The question is, if we planned to offer this information (related to alerts) in
the cloud portal or no and if the question is true if there is any way (using
an API for example) to access to it and revoker information in order to show
it in the Cloud Portal, like I show you in the slides.
Best regards,
Fernando L?pez Aguilar

Have you considered where the data for these windows will come from?
Regarding Nagios -- indeed, I've heard that there is a plan to use it. in
the testbed.
In general, I would try not to duplicate information that is already
available there.
Can anyone say few words what exactly can Nagios support at the moment?
Thanks,

Hi Alex, Fernando,
you can find here a quick list of Nagios Core feature s, which could be extended via a plug-in system.
Anyway there are other more complete systems that natively allow you to have an enterprise grade network monitoring and network management (so SNMP and network devices included), not only limited to services, which could be more suitable for production and testbed facility. In details, I am referring to OpenNMS and ZenOSS, that are truly distributed, scalable platform for all aspects of the FCAPS network management model.
I let you notice that for OpenNMS is available a demo at their website .
In order to have a comparison between all of them, I have found a good report (dated 2008), where at end "goodies" and "baddies" are summarized.
Hope to be helpful.
Best Regards,
Lorenzo

Sorry for the last minutes but you cannot heard me, when Alex asked me about

After it, the connection will down and I cannot know if you asked me other question.

I've created 'recently closed' query in the tracker, you can use it. The
changes are mostly in Resource Manager.

Hi Alex,
I do not know if my firewall delete any attachment in the email, but I
could not see if you send us a document with the list of closed tickets
that you mention. Could you send it again?

All,
I have close several tickets (stories/work items) which has been assigned
to past releases and sprints, but were still in 'open' state in the
tracker.
Please, check whether they include things which we still haven't
implemented (and hence need to be re-opened and assigned to future
release/sprint).
Thanks,
Alex

Subject: [Fiware-cloud] Edgelet architecture

Dear All,
Please find attached a preliminary diagram for the edgelets architecture.
Unfortunately it does not uses the FMC notation (Is there any tool for that? I didn't find a look, but I did not yet went other it into details)
Also, the communication aspect between end user / remote web sites / edgelet will probably be subject for a second diagram
I should provide a first complete draft (aka draft, but with all sections in the wiki and FMC diagram by the end of this week or very beginning of next one)
Best regards
Lionel

Subject: [Fiware-cloud] Architecture draft
Message-ID:
Dear all,
As discussed today, let's put new version of the architecture of all the
GEs in the public wiki, under new names (I suggest adding "_V2" to the
page names), and add links from our private wiki page:
https://forge.fi-ware.eu/plugins/mediawiki/wiki/cloud/index.php/Deliverable_%22D2.3_FIWARE_Architecture%22_-_Cloud_Contrib
Make sure that the current public versions of the specifications is not
affected until the review is over:
https://forge.fi-ware.eu/plugins/mediawiki/wiki/fiware/index.php/Cloud_Hosting_Architecture
https://forge.fi-ware.eu/plugins/mediawiki/wiki/fiware/index.php/Summary_of_FI-WARE_Open_Specifications
As already mentioned, the architecture specifications should follow the
guidelines at
https://forge.fi-ware.eu/plugins/mediawiki/wiki/fi-ware-private/index.php/Instructions_on_how_to_develop_FI-WARE_Chapter_Architecture_Descriptions
As agreed during the call, the deadline for uploading the drafts to the
wiki is Monday, March 4th.
Thanks,
Alex
