[Fiware-data] Search/Query vs. Query and Search/Query

Dear All,

As Juanjo just mentioned during the call, there is still small pending job to agree on how to combine TI's context query and Siemens' content query within the high-level spec document containing the GEs.

My idea and suggestion is that we leave current Search/Query GE based on the Siemens' asset as it is as far as it performs a comprehensive content (or streamed content) data search and query (I am not sure if it works also for streamed events - this is something to clarify between IBM and Siemens).

And additionally introduce a small subsection into the Pub/Sub GE where accommodate the Query mechanism over context (efficient, simple and straightforward to near real-time context-awareness needs) extending it maybe also to generic data structures (context, data and events). What is the Search/Query in this case and why it is different from the Search/Query we already have by Siemens'? It return the context (or the data) when the data (context) conditions are changed or have certain value (within data structure fields) or when requesting part needs to extract (search) for set of data (context) satisfying to a certain conditions.

This mechanism is much simpler (and easier) that one existing in already defined Query/Search GW.

And this mechanism is related directly to Pub/Sub GE as far as Subscribe operation (subscription) is indeed a Query!
