Hi all, Please find enclosed below the minutes of our last follow-up confcall. The planning (very next steps + work in October) was revised and refined during a joint WPL/WPA follow-up session we had this Monday. The attached presentation reflects the result of such session and it should be considered as a more up-to-date reference of work to be done in the project. Nevertheless, you will see that it fully aligns with what we discussed last Friday. Best regards, -- Juanjo 1. Development of the Backlog 1.1 Very next steps We should have the first set of EPICs finished and registered by end of next week. Don't feel pressured if you haven't identified User Stories yet. Keep in mind that User Stories mean work to be done (indeed, changes in the code of an asset) which can be addressed within the duration of a sprint, i.e., one month. The Wiki has been integrated in FusionForge so that now the FI-WARE project in FusionForge has a Wiki which will be the public Wiki of the project. This way, FusionForge provides a single sign-on mechanism for all the tools (Wiki, tracker, docman, ...) Now we are in the process of migrating contents of the temporary wiki at wiki.fi-ware.eu to the Wiki in FusionForge. At the same time, refining the ToC and covering some sections in the Wiki which may help as a tutorial for using the tracker. The plan is to have this ready before mid next week. Then, we are entitled to register the EPICs in the tracker. Until the Wiki and tracker are available, we should make progress on the high-level design of the solution for the integration of already identified assets (work that started in Turin) as to obtain a set of EPICs as result of such high-level design. People should try to develop the contents of new sections to be added to the FI-WARE Product Vision at the Wiki dealing with description of assets. Proposed structured: * Brief description * Reference (URLs) to available documentation about the product 1.2 Work during October: Transforming EPICs into features and user stories . We introduced the concept of feature during our plenary last week. Feature is just a kind of EPIC we feel confident can be address within the duration of a release (duration of a release is 3 months, i.e., 60 working days) Don't confuse this term "release" with that used in the DoW. "Releases" in the DoW should be considered "major releases" which are splitted into "releases" (we may also use the term "minor release" to avoid confussion) We will devote the whole month of October to prioritize EPICs and refine those most critical (highest priority) EPICs as to generate: + user stories (if we can) + at least features We will also devote the last part of October to start planning the first release and, within that release, the first sprint. This means identifying the highest priority features and user stories. Note that the first release will be scheduled to finish by End January (maybe mid February) 1.3 UC projects Some UC projects have already started to produce requirements in the form of request for EPICs to be added to the FI-WARE backlog. They will start introducing their request on a dedicated tracker system in the FI-WARE project once it is available (also mid next week) Request from UC projects will be analyzed by chapter teams and will probably imply some interaction and negotiation with UC projects. This process should also require some time from us during October and may derive in incorporation of features (I don't believe user stories) in our FI-WARE backlogs 1.4 Technical Support to UC projects A tracker will be setup and available to UC projects since monday 26th. Therefore, be prepare to handle some requests (requests on multimedia analysis GE will arrive almost inmediately for sure because of high-interest by Safecity project) 1.5 Pending discussions IBM and TID to agree on planning for the discussion about integrating the CEP and BigData GEs TI and TID to agree on planning for the discussion about integrating the CEP and BigData GEs We should arrange a confcall to discuss on the Query Broker GE.
