Carlos, A short summary of the status of the UC tickets assigned to CEP. Maybe, if time permits, we can discuss it in our meeting today. #1120 - Realtime Exchange - "Exchange in real time a large amounts of data collected and processed in high speed mode" Very general and seems to be related to several GEs: Massive Data Gathering, BigData, Pub/Sub, CEP. Maybe this can be split to all of these GEs - each explaining what its baseline capabilities are. #491 - Complex calculation - "We refer that in a context with massive sensors providing information the system has to implement the appropriate computation capacity for coping with huge amount of data, i.e. the system will gather (all) data from different sources (sensor networks), process it and extract (and present to user) elaborated information related to the service/s required. Furthermore, this processing has to be elaborated according to the contextual information provided by adjacent infrastructure. E.g. based on the current light intensity, atmospheric pressure and humidity measured, the system will "process" fog. It "uses" the weather forecast to verify it. The car traffic sensors provides high car presence, so the system "detects" a traffic jam. A user starts its car. Based on all this processed info, and "knowing" the context of the user (common destinations), the system will automatically send the route to user's navigator which avoid the traffic jam and the fog." This ticket, similar to #1120, talks about several GEs working together - Massive Data gathering, BigData, Pub/Sub, CEP. #1088 - Geospatial alerts - "I as a service provider need to request help/attention from users depending on their position, and on the coordinates associated with the data." Status: I asked for clarifications from the issuer #1121 - Distributed database - "To provide storage systems for large amount of information, distributed database system (local, regional, etc.) " As we already agreed, it is not relevant to CEP - I assigned it to Carlos under Data-New GE Regards, Tali Yatzkar-Haham Event-based Middleware & Solutions Group IBM Haifa Research Lab Phone: 972-4-829-6320 | Mobile: 972-54-4388482 E-mail: TALI at il.ibm.com Haifa University, Mount Carmel Haifa, 31905 Israel -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
