From ralli at tid.es Tue Jul 3 13:07:40 2012 From: ralli at tid.es (CARLOS RALLI UCENDO) Date: Tue, 03 Jul 2012 11:07:40 +0000 Subject: [Fiware-data] Important: Summary of tasks/deliveries to be completed these days Message-ID: <8E0BEE99-9F3D-4A98-A774-156AE0B98E5C@tid.es> Dear WP Colleagues, Once we completed the FI-WARE first year review, let me remind you the complete list of tasks and deliverables to be done these days. In the conference call this Thursday we will discuss the review early report and the status of the above mentioned tasks. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 1) Software Release (D.x.2.a) (x=6, for our WP): SVN in public (FI-WARE project) or restricted access areas (FI-WARE PPP Restricted project). 2) Adding Features in the backlog per GE (public part of the backlog available on the Wiki): The goal of this task is to ensure there is a complete set of features characterizing each GE. Please, notice that this task is very relevant for both the Unit testing plan document generation (see point 5) and a re-submission of the Technical Roadmap agreed with the Project officer extending the document with all supported features. 3) D.x.3.a Installation and Administration Guide The "User and Programmers Guide" will not have guidelines. The only premise they must respect is that they should be written as tutorials, to provide an added value with respect to other documents that we already have. Here you can find the guidelines and placeholders: https://forge.fi-ware.eu/plugins/mediawiki/wiki/fi-ware-private/index.php/FiwareDeliverableD2.3-8.3 4) D.x.4.a User and Programmers Guide: The placeholders are available at: https://forge.fi-ware.eu/plugins/mediawiki/wiki/fi-ware-private/index.php/FiwareDeliverableD2.3-8.4 5) D.x.5.a Unit Testing Plan: There are already have directions on how to prepare the Unit Testing Plan ? https://forge.fi-ware.eu/plugins/mediawiki/wiki/fi-ware-private/index.php/FiwareDeliverableD2.3-8.5 You have a pointer to examples so this should be easily understood. The link points to the private wiki, all the project members should have acces to it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Thanks for your efforts! As a result I have generated a table in the excel book attached to this e-mail in order to start the monitoring/control process of these tickets as committed in the past review also during my presentation of the WP12 chapter. Juanjo is including a specific slot for our next call on Monday and we will be making a short roundtable to ask each WPl/WPa about these tickets and your plans in order to solve and close them. I would like to hear also which inputs/UCs you are missing according to the feedback received during the last call so Juanjo can highlight and request the submission of those concrete points in the context of the Architecture Board meetings. In the call I will be providing information and plans for the tickets related to Data chapter and all tickets marked as "unknown" and thus not specifically assigned to any chapter. As you can see there are tickets addressed to Security, I2ND and IoT too. Thanks for your cooperation. As you know, WP10 (Experimentation Support, Integrated Testing and Validation) has as main task the set-up and running of the FI-WARE Testbed. Given the importance of this goal, WP10 has a representative of each partner. This representative (not the WPL) should make sure that all people within his/her company are well informed of the situation and what we expect from them in the Testbed and the experimentation stage. Several partners are not doing this work (in same cases never attended the WP10 phc) and the project coordination is receiving complaints as many people don't seem to be well informed. We sometimes resort to the WPL to help here, but this is not the "official" channel. I will try to recap to give all the consortium an overview of the situation and what we need from you. GENERAL INFO * The Testbed Team is starting to send the details on how to install the testbed to the GE owners who declared that they are going to install their GE in July * Theoretically you should install your GE yourselves but we can give a hand deploying a KVM image for those who prefer this method (other hypervisors are not supported) * The GE owner is the one who administrates and maintains the GE, not the testbed team. If something goes wrong, he/she has to put it up and running again, the WP10 will only monitor the situation and will prompt about abnormal behaviour of the GE . * We have two tools to follow this up: * Implementation cockpit: https://forge.fi-ware.eu/plugins/mediawiki/wiki/testbed/index.php/Testbed_V1_Implementation_Cockpit * Integration Tracker : https://forge.fi-ware.eu/tracker/?atid=224&group_id=18&func=browse * Each release of each GE is represented by a ticket * The use of this is explained here: https://forge.fi-ware.eu/plugins/mediawiki/wiki/testbed/index.php/Testbed_V1_Integration_Plan#Integration_Process * If you do not have access to the testbed project and cannot reach this wiki and the tracker, request access following the standard procedure REQUESTS FOR GE OWNERS * We have an installation calendar. Please fill in the responsible person per GE and state the dates when you could install * http://www.doodle.com/bymgm9h9gnbfms8k * Fill the GE template in the Testbed Cockpit (https://forge.fi-ware.eu/plugins/mediawiki/wiki/testbed/index.php/Testbed_V1_Implementation_Cockpit ) declaring if the GE is multi-tenant or not (this deeply affects the GE usage by different Use case projects at the same time) * The access to the Testbed is limited per IP. Make sure that the IPs from which you are going to access the Testbed are listed here (if not, you will not be able to enter the testbed): * https://forge.fi-ware.eu/plugins/mediawiki/wiki/testbed/index.php/Testbed_V1_Implementation_Cockpit (click on your enabler and see the wiki page with the details per enabler) * Alternatively, there is also a page that has company wide IPs (not particular to an enabler): https://forge.fi-ware.eu/plugins/mediawiki/wiki/testbed/index.php/Testbed_V1_Operations_Cockpit * Make sure that when you install your GE, you update the corresponding ticket on the Integration tracker and also the Implementation cockpit.
