Dear Thomas,

with great sorrow I receive this extremely sad news. I had few opportunities to interact with Jens as FI-WARE is just started, but in those cases I appreciated his positive attitude, which made working with him really nice. I wish to offer you my condolence for such a bereavement.

For what concerns the project activity, we'll rely on Marius' contribution when he is back, meanwhile I have just added yourself in the I2ND mailing list, so that you are at least informed about the activities going on; for further aspects,  there will be time to discuss them once the more than understandable situation you face now is over.

Dear friends,

very sad news from this site:

Jens Fiedler surprisingly passed away this Monday due to an infection.
We are very sad about this sudden loss, as he was an excellent senior researcher and a good friend of us.
We will miss him!

We are still shocked and need to sort out many things here, as he was a key expert in many projects.
Marius Corici will continue to be the main contact person for FI-WARE, but will be in holidays the next 8 days.
And of course I am here, but obviously overloaded.
