[Fiware-i2nd] R: NET_IC GE figure

Dear Jean-Pierre,

I 'm afraid there has been some misunderstanding (it was also my fault that I didn't' timely distribute to you the right document), as Orange is involved in task 7.4 "Network Services" while the GE description you took as basis for your updates is related to T7.3 "Open Networking Entities)".
I invite you to check the contents of the GE defined for T7.4 distributed yesterday, which is attached, and consider your contribution in that context. For any specific information about the S3C GE please contact Hans Einsiedler, who coordinates the Task, thanks.

Best Regards
Pier

Oggetto: AW: NET_IC GE figure

Dear Jean-Pierre,

thank you for your input. In my understanding, the degree of detail goes clearly beyond what is needed for the actual deliverable D.2.2.a. Furthermore, I have the feeling, that it is not really specific for T.7.3/Net_IC, but more general related to the definition of roles and mechansims for API instantiation of any GE. We might discuss in Torino, in which way we could include this material in further versions of the GE descriptions, either with specific relations to the GEs or as a more general part.

Best regards,
Thomas

Betreff: RE: NET_IC GE figure
Hi all,

I am Jean-Pierre Le Rouzic from Orange labs in Rennes and represent for the moment the Orange group that will contribute to the Task 7.4. My understanding is that Orange was supposed to work in the area of Network API exposure so here is a proposal.

Following your last message Marco, I would like to detail a bit a part of the architecture you just introduced. This is about the upper part of your proposal which exposes the network infrastructure to stakeholders. I shamelessly copied your picture and a few lines. Mainly it deals with API exposure, it doesn't deal with some non functional aspects that are mentioned in the picture nor with the command of the network. But I added an optional section about possible network command features.

The detail level may be a bit too precise, please let me know what format is waited for our input. A possible extension to our work is detailled in the last part of the included document.

Don't hesitate to comment it or inform me if my proposal is not aligned with the Task work program.

Best regards,

Jean-Pierre

Objet : NET_IC GE figure
Dear Thomas,

after the conf call this morning, I started to think about how to improve the figure depicting the NET_IC Generic Enabler.
Please find attached a document where I tried to draw a new picture tring to clarify better the role of our GE. I also provide a short description to clarify the meaning of the picture.
I used a new document to not confuse the deliverable we have now (which is quite stable), so please fill free to use it or part of it for the contribution to D2.2.a.
Also, please tell me if what I propose is in line with your vision and the discussion you had during the meeting in Berlin.

Best regards
Marco

Subject: [Fiware-i2nd] WP7 confcall 8/6: summary

Dear All,

here is a short summary of today's confcall:

Participants

- Jens - FOKUS

- Pasquale Giorgio, Antonio - ALU-I

- Marco, Vincenzo - UNIROMA1

- Henrik - EAB

- Klaus, Thomas - ALU-D

- Marco, Loran, Thomas - NSN

- Hans - DT

- Pier - TI

Topics in agenda discussed:

Rules and commitments for contributions

According to the general rules for contribution to D2-2a Pier reminds everybody to be as much reactive as possible to meet the deadlines (every day an updated contribution to the deliverable should be posted on the Fi-WARE Forge repository). Feedback by main editors of the document will be provided periodically to harmonise the descriptions coming from the different project Chapters.

Comment draft D2.2a contributions + Definition of next steps for D2.2a completion and Task activities

Contributions distributed so far commented.

T7.3: Mostly stable, some revision required (e.g. to picture) following the discussion with T7.4 yesterday at Berlin meeting. --> Hans+Thomas(ALU)

T7.4: Definition of GE agreed at the Berlin meeting. Probably better format for description of functionalities offered by the GE. According to Pier should be taken as example for other GEs in next refinements.

T7.1: first version, introduced North/South Bridge interfaces. Some doubt about using such terms. Revision process expected. Thomas (NSN) points out the need for a higher-level picture linking together all the relevant GEs we are describing. An introductory section is under preparation to cope with this. --> Pier + Hans

T7.2: expected for yesterday but not yet distributed (resp. Technicolor), however contacts on going with people in charge of it.

Definition of agenda for WP meeting (Torino 14 June)

Main items will be finalization of D2.2a contributions, which includes managing overlappings and gaps in GEs descriptions.

Klaus proposes to add discussion about next deliverable(s) timescale.

AOB

Klaus asked whether WP7 meeting confirmed for September in Stuttgart. Pier reported that contacts are on going about a plenary meeting in the same period. In next few days more information should be available.

ACTIONS:

I2ND12: Hans + Thomas(ALU) to harmonise picture in T7.3.

I2ND13: All Editors of Task GEs to provide an updated version by Thu 10 at 12:00 (CEST) --> Editors are strongly encouraged to engage all partners contributing to the task to provide their contributions!

I2ND14: Pier + Hans to complete introductory section for I2ND High-Level description by Wed 9

I2ND15: Pier to provide draft agenda for Turin meeting Today

I2ND16: Task Leaders to provide feedback to draft agenda by Wed 9

I2ND17: Pier to distribute final agenda by Thu 10

I2ND18: Pier to keep informed WP about plenary or WP7 meeting in September.

Best Regards

Pier
