[Fiware-i2nd] Roundtable on design/implementation Tools to be used in WP7

Hi,

For Technicolor, we will have to cope with "industrial constraints" and will have to use the tools and OS that will have been chosen for the cloud proxy developments inside our company (this is not a FIWARE choice, it comes with the GE itself). We were thinking about using Meego as an OS but the recent announcements from Intel made us changing our mind and we will probably use a more generic linux distribution (on X86, maybe some debian variants). Android is not an option for us.

About tools: in Task 7.2, there is no planned development to be done by others than Technicolor, therefore, to save time, we will use the toolchain(s) we use on embedded devices (I don't think we use Eclipse). Due to the fact we have to code at a relatively low level (linux drivers, VM or container manager, protocol stack etc ...), we will code everything in C/C++. Of course, this does not have any effect on the language used in the applications that run inside the VM/containers (can be Java or anything we want)

About modeling, StarUML is fine

Regards,
henk

Hi all,

I am fine with using StarUML, Eclipse and Java 1.6.
I have no requirements for using or not Android as I do only server side work.

Best regards,

Jean-Pierre

Objet : [Fiware-i2nd] Roundtable on design/implementation Tools to be used in WP7

Daer WP7 partners,
I would like to invite you to contribute to the roundtable to choose in a collaborative way which design and implementation tool we want to use for the WP7 tasks.

In order to express you preferences, download the following template:
https://forge.fi-ware.eu/docman/view.php/10/371/Tools+Survey+Template.docx

The document is organized as follow:

· For each task (in which your company is involved) you can report one or more tool-sets.

· Each tool-set is (hopefully) composed by several design/developing tools, each having a specific purpose within that toolset.

I kindly ask to you to fill in the tables for each tasks and to send me back by e-mail, or to upload directly on the Fusion Forge your contribution (and then to send me a confirmation e-mail).

The deadline for this contribution is:
23th of September - 17:00 CET

Best regards,
Vincenzo Suraci.
