Dear Hans and Pier, thanks for sharing this information and the chance for objections. Indeed, I see a strong difficulty to extend the educational sessions over two weeks. Probably many of us will have travel restrictions (we have!) and it will be very difficult to argue towards our management that during 2 weeks a person will be needed for 0.5 days each time. I still have some hope that a revised planning will be capable to arrange the I2ND related blocks within 1 week. Would you still see the possibility for that approach? Thanks and best regards Klaus Von: fiware-i2nd-bounces at lists.fi-ware.eu [mailto:fiware-i2nd-bounces at lists.fi-ware.eu] Im Auftrag von Hans.Einsiedler at telekom.de Gesendet: Friday, April 20, 2012 12:01 PM An: fiware-i2nd at lists.fi-ware.eu Betreff: [Fiware-i2nd] Some information regarding the educational sessions Dear All, as we anticipated in our last confcall, the educational sessions have been planned for weeks 21-25 May and 4-8 June. The weeks will be structured as follows: - Monday afternoon - (draft) introduction on FI-WARE - Tue to Thu: from 9h to 15h Chapter sessions (several chapters in parallel), then from 15h to 18h presentations by UCPs (1 or two per day) - Friday (draft) additional chapter slots, wrap up and AOB According to the requests by UCPs, we need to organize the I2ND sessions in both weeks. We have been requested to provide information on how many days we plan to use for each session, and we confirmed Juanjo that for I2ND two days are enough: we expect to present two GEs per day; we have in total 5 hours to do this each day, including Q&A, which means we have 2.5 hours per GE. We also provided Juanjo the information that it would be better to have our sessions at the beginning of the week(s), which means Tuesday and Wednesday, due to some constraints . So it's now time to define the participation to the sessions. The participation criteria we propose are the following: there should be at least one between WPL and WPA present in the sessions; for each GE there should be the Task Coordinator or the deputy of the Task Coordinator + another (or at least one) GE expert. Attendance is mandatory in the day of the specific GE presentation, if someone stays the entire week to gather the presentations from all UCPs then they are welcome, just let us know. Do you agree on this proposal? If there aren't objections, during the i2nd confcall next week we'll define in detail the attendants list. Given the organization of such educational sessions, it becomes rather difficult to plan a I2ND f2f meeting within one of those two weeks. It's therefore necessary we re-start the polling to identify a date and place for it. Again this will be discussed in our confcall.
