Dear all

Specific enablers should be enablers developed by UA projects because they are not used by the other. Another wording could be "vertical enablers" because there are dedicated to vertical features: health features, transport features, tourism features.

FI-Ware has to develop GE because 2 or 3 UA projects need them. If only one requires an enabler, it will be specific and not generic.

Dear Ignacio,

Thanks for this. I think specific enablers are a subset of Generic enablers; In WP5, the focus is on IoT communication, data handling and service enablers; The Generic models will provide common functions and interfaces and for specific scenarios some features might be customised and/or added depending on the application and environment.

Best regards,

Payam

Dear All,

Yesterday I have done the presentation of WP5 of FIWARE in the iot-Week. It did like to people. And generate so many question about Generic Enablers and Specific/Domain Enablers.

Which is the difference? How we identify the generic vs specific and where is the scope of them and if a specific enabler could potentially become a Generic one?

Best regards,

Ignacio.
