You will see in this Wiki page https://forge.fi-ware.eu/plugins/mediawiki/wiki/fi-ware-private/index.php/FiwareDeliverableD2.4 early contributions from us, basis for the discussion tomorrow. See additional guidelines about it in the following e-mail: <<[Fiware-wpa] IMPORTANT REMARKS regarding the FI-WARE Technical Roadmap Deliverable>> We were thinking to split the deliverable to backend part and gateway part and inside these to structure to releases (1st major, 2nd major, future releases), but not have separate sections on GE-s. In the meantime any ideas, suggestions on what to include in which release are welcome. The basis for this is what we currently have in the D2.3 deliverable. Thanks & Br, Lorant Dear All, Let's resume our weekly meeting starting from next week in the usual day/time, which is Wednesday, 10:00 AM (CET) to 11:30. Either WPL or WPA will be present to host the meeting. In case we find good reason to skip the meeting, then we will skip it, but I propose not to deviate from this slot. Instead we propose to have a dedicated meeting on NGSI Monday next week afternoon (will send out a Doodle) where we expect NEC, NSN, Orange and Ericsson to participate. The topic should be finalized by the end of the month. Between now and next week we expect to finalize the Technical Roadmap (we are expecting comments from the chief architect currently) and will concentrate on tracker issues: primarily handling tickets from UC projects (by the AB meeting on March 28/29 we need to show progress) and putting our own tracker in order (this is a tentative). Expect mails from us on the tracker topic. Thanks & Br, Lorant Dear All, Let's resume our weekly meeting starting from next week in the usual day/time, which is Wednesday, 10:00 AM (CET) to 11:30. Since the introduction in our reference architecture of the Gateway we did not considered the relationship between the IoT Gateway and the Cloud Edge defined in the I2ND chapter. One aspect to clarify is the scope of the two elements. The CE is intended for domestic use (and it is implemented by the Technicolor asset Cloud Proxy). Is the Ericsson gateway more for a network use? Or is it another type of home gateway? In the latter case there is an overlapping between the two architectural elements that we may want to explain. Another aspect is the network protocol used by these two elements to connect to the Backend. Last year we discussed with I2ND about the connection between the Cloud Edge and the IoT Services Enablement platform and we reached an agreement to use the TI ZigBee implementation since TI is involved both in the IoT and in the I2ND chapters. In the Madrid GA though the architectural requirements became more tight and it was decided the Backend has only two interfaces exposed by its Device Frontend GE, that is ETSI M2M and NGSI. This has an impact on the I2ND architecture too, since it means either the Cloud Edge has to implement the ETSI M2M specification or it has to connect to the Device Frontend GE of the IoT Gateway instead of the Backend. What do you think about these two points? Especially Ericsson I think may have something to say about them. We could consider that the cloud edge could host without any changes IoT Gateways GEs which could interact with IoT Backend GEs. In this way there is no direct impact for our GEs and no impact for Cloud Edge GE itself. But the critical point would be which kind devices could be reachable in the home environment and what kind of protocol adapters are required, especially because Cloud Edge is also associated to an hardware and this hardware should not have the IoT interface (no drivers for Zigbee, Ogc or other additional hardware). What we can demonstrate is that Cloud Edge could host the IoT Gateway without any concrete dedicated technical interface which could be provide in the future by 3rd parties. In this scenario I do not see any NGSI/ETSI M2M impact on Cloud Edge. The Ericsson gateway is another instantiation and as there is also an hardware implementation, we will e able to show how home gateway or network gateway in a city, or a mobile android gateway could support the same GEs and exchanges data and share the same IoT resources management model. [Lorant] with the limitation that the respective IoT Backend GE-s need to be Linux applications But the critical point would be which kind devices could be reachable in the home environment and what kind of protocol adapters are required, especially because Cloud Edge is also associated to an hardware and this hardware should not have the IoT interface (no drivers for Zigbee, Ogc or other additional hardware). [Lorant] not the hardware, but the Linux OS they are using. For hardware I imagine this box will have a USB to which you can attach a Zigbee etc dongle, but you need the Linux driver on the box for the respective dongle. What we can demonstrate is that Cloud Edge could host the IoT Gateway without any concrete dedicated technical interface which could be provide in the future by 3rd parties. [Lorant] with Ericsson GW I have the feeling that as it is now, it supports more wireless interfaces than Cloud Edge, concentrating only on one interface, any additional interface would require extra work, not just finding a dongle and respective driver, I assume. We have a number of tickets in the following states and with the following proposed actions (State:action) 1. "Accepted for inclusion in FI-WARE backlog": the backlog item should be reproduced in our own tracker as one/a number of backlog items 2. "Open": there should be an action from IoT team that results in "Closed", "Under evaluation", "Needs revision", "Out of scope" 3. "Already covered by backlog entries": there should be comments indicating which backlog items in our tracker are covering the requested functionality 4. "Under evaluation by FI-WARE": we should show progress, these backlog items should turn into "Needs revision" (+ comments why this is the case), "Out of scope" (+comments), "Already covered by backlog entries", "already covered by baseline asset", "accepted for inclusion" 5. "Already covered by baseline asset": specify the asset in the comment field Where the backlog item covers more than one WP and the status is "Open", I propose not to take any specific action now. I listed below the items one by one with link so that you don't need to search, and the person who should take an action. We expect an action latest by EOB 19.03. Please act ASAP where you see your names. For your information I include in the list the current status. Where you see green/yellow colour, things are OK/more or less OK for the moment. Where you see red, immediate action would be needed. If there are unclarities, please ask. Thanks & Br, Lorant 1: https://forge.fi-ware.eu/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=273&group_id=7&atid=163 (Sabrina should take action) - no action https://forge.fi-ware.eu/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=377&group_id=7&atid=163 (Ricardo should take action) - no action https://forge.fi-ware.eu/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=378&group_id=7&atid=163 (D?nes/L?r?nt should take action)- mapped to existing epics https://forge.fi-ware.eu/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=379&group_id=7&atid=163 (D?nes/L?r?nt should take action) - mapped to existing epics 2: This category is empty now because I put basically all the open items to "under evaluation" and assigned a person to handle it. I mark these in italic font. It's not mandatory to take an action now because it is visible in the history that we just started to evaluate it, so progress can be shown. 3: https://forge.fi-ware.eu/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=384&group_id=7&atid=163 (Sabrina should take action) -
