[Fiware-iot] Demo scenario for review

Hi Thierry, all,

Do I understand that we are talking about a demo scenario for interaction between Gateway Data Handling and Backend Things Management? Does the pub/sub broker also play a role in it?

The first question is which NGSI operation is used for the shown interactions. Possibilities are

- Data Handling sends update to Things Management. But in this case the Things Management GE just forwards it to the pub/sub broker, which is not too exciting.

- The ThingsManagement GE queries the Data Handling GE for data. Maybe there could be two (or more) instances of the Data Handling GE, each providing a distinct attribute of the same context element, and the Things Management GE does the aggregation.

Of course this depends on which operations the Data Handling GE supports - is there new information on that?
Can sensors or other event producers be connected to the Data Handling GE, so that the scenario looks more realistic?

Best
Tobias

Importance: High

Dear all,

We discussed this point during our last weekly meeting and have a WPL/WPA meeting last week. I do not have currently a draft version of what could be achieve from the Fi-Ware point of view but it is expected that we could show a scenario which will simulate some events from IoT coming through the Pub/Sub broker and using some other Data&Context management GEs.

So the small scenario we described between Gateway Data Handling GE and Things Management GE (Query context and update context) to show that NGSI is available between the 2 GEs. The input for Pub/Sub broker will be "static" as the interface is not compliant today. We need here a task force with (TID/NEC and Orange, Atos as follower) to list all tasks. Tobias/Salvatore could you take the lead on that with Laurent and Ken?

The other part of the scenario has been described by Sabrina (Thanks Sabrina) to show that we can switch off/switch on a zigbee lamp in Turin using the Gateway device management GE on the testbed in Sevilla (really using Internet and REST interface to do that). The task force is essentially TI and Ericsson. Sabrina, could you take the lead and organize a first meeting with Ericsson on this point.

At least from IoT chapter, we will be able to demonstrate that software is running and deliver some services. As soon as I have something on the whole demo, I am going to inform you.

BR
Thierry
