[Fiware-iot] IoT weekly meeting: postponed in the afternoon

Ok, Thierry,

Regarding the NGSI JSON topic I've included in the Googledoc a reference to the e-mail of Fermin with his clarifications.

However, roughly speaking this is what I understood:
- What we consider standard in FI-WARE is the NGSI XML binding and that should uniform for all implementations (as we are all doing).
- NGSI JSON binding has been introduced as per developers feedback as they seem to feel more comfortable with JSON.
- There are two possibilities of implementation for those GEs willing to adopt JSON (in addition to the mandatory XML binding):
  A) To keep the XML model we have (as suggested by TI for the Protocol Adaptor).
  B) To develop a much simpler model for the JSON binding (as suggested by Fermin for the Context Broker).

Each possibility has pros & cons. What I see after hearing Fermin but also TI input is that perhaps for NGSI binding we could admit both approaches.
In principle someone may think that to be aligned here is relevant too, but the fact is that some GEs will decide to spend more efforts to make life easier to developers while other may still want to develop JSON but have less efforts to address a new way to parse the fields within the code.

In the e-mail of Fermin you may see how our proposal for the Context Broker looks like, but remember that we do not pretend to enforce it. It is just a suggestion for those willing to implement (B) model.

In any case, Fermin will organize a meeting on this in the week following to the Santander event (Oct 16-18) but involving the NGSI discussion group that it is actually wider and specific than IoT meetings.

Hope these clarifications let us go on. Suggestions/comments welcomed, of course.

As i twill be difficult to have everybody tomorrow,  we are going to deal with the different points by email till next week. I’m going to launch different streams regarding the different subject to collect your feedback and have a good overview of IoT status because Release 3.1 is now closed and we begin release 3.2.

Thursday is a public holiday in Germany, so I am afraid that this will not work out. Also Friday will be difficult as I imagine that many people will take the bridge day off (at least Salvatore and me do).
Today in the afternoon is not possible?
