Hi all,

We need an urgent feedback for the conference ECFI2 (European Conference on Future Internet) which will happen in Munich one week before the "Oktober Fest" on the 17th and 18th of October. (http://www.ecfi.eu )

This conference is organized by Concord and the other FIPPP projects to attract other people than those already involved in projects, so make the buzz for 3rd parties to launch the ecosystem.

At the 1st ECFI conference FI-WARE had a stand without demo while the UC projects had demos. So it is expected to have some short demos which could focus on specific GEs. I would know if some of you could attend the ECFI conference in Munich (in my mind it could be NEC to decrease travel costs in general) to show an IoT demo, not really an integrated demo like a service but more a demo showing the integration between IoT GEs typically:

· Events coming from a Protocol Adapter through Data Handling

· Register in a ConfMan

· And then some updates and auto discovery actions to identify some news things
The point is really to show that IoT GEis are running and deliver a useful service.

So could you give me your feedback quickly.

Thanks
Thierry

Objet : [Fiware-pcc] Updates on ECFI2_Concept, programme and budget (URGENT FEEDBACK FROM FI-WARE NEEDED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
Importance : Haute

Dear all,

I have sent this e-mail already two times.

I really need feedback from FI-WARE. In fact, the agenda was circulated to the SB of the FI PPP as it was because there was no answer from us to increase our visibility.

It is important that you provide your views on this, since FI-WARE will have to face another big payment to contribute to the organization of ECFI2. Furthermore it is expected that we have a stand, but they mentioned explicitly that they expect demos and more active participation from the colleagues, since it was clear that in the last edition we failed to send technical people to show "GE in practice". Still I think it was useful and some good connections were established, besides the fact that the EC and all the attendees got a good impression of us. This I very important to convince people, to get credibility in the community.
I agree that if we look at potential commercial customers, this is not our community, but we cannot forget that the immediate responsibility of FI-WARE and the follow up projects is based on supporting SMEs and accelerators.

Check the attachments I sent in my previous e-mails and please, read the e-mail below (already forwarded) and come back with answers to the important points.

One essential thing for me is knowing which resources we can count on for demos and stand, taking into consideration that the previous week there will be the Campus party.

There is a Steering Board tomorrow and a DWG teleconference in few days. No position from FI-WARE?

Thanks in advance, Nuria

Subject: Updates on ECFI2_Concept, programme and budget
Importance: High

Dear colleagues from PCC
CC: Comms

Following my previous e-mail let me update you on some discussions happening in the Organizing committee of ECFI2, the FI PPP event that will be organized in September 2014 in Munich.
I am part of this OC in order to represent FI-WARE in the discussions and help in the organization; today I had my first long teleconference with them and I can already share some information with you.

Let me attach:

· Concept of the event

· Current version of the programme

· Budget (please, keep it confidential)
All this was defined before I joined the OC. Now, I have "voice" in the group, and I would like to circulate some questions for which I would like to get a commonly agreed position:

· Are we in favor of having a fee? This will probably be defined depending on the typology of organization or may be related to the attendance to different parts to ensure that this is not a barrier for SMEs. IMHO there should be a not-too-high fee to ensure that we avoid the no-shows, as it happened in ECFI1

· As in ECFI1, FI-WARE is expected to contribute financially to the event. As you can see in the budget, the expected figure is 15.000 euro approx.

· Check the current agenda. In the discussion today we talked about the possibility of including a slot devoted to FI-WARE and FI-LAB (FI-OPS?) before the Phase 3 session. The programme is so compressed that it is difficult to figure out how to accommodate more contents, but of course it is important that FI-WARE increases its visibility. Think on how to link this with winners of the next Campus Party and practical examples on how to successfully use FI-LAB.

· It is also expected that FI-WARE sets up a booth, as in ECFI1, but we should focus on running demos

Please, send your comments and suggestions as soon as possible to me and not later than next week. I will inform the OC and will speed up the integration of our ideas into the process.

Best regards,
