Dear all,

  Please read all this message thoroughly since there are action points that you may have to deal with during the FI-Core kick-off meeting.

  As you know (or should know :-), there is a series of "Startup Weekend FIWARE special edition" events that will be organized in several cities in three different weeks during October and November (October 2-5, October 16-19, November 13-16):

  *   October 2-5
     *   Germany: Hamburg
     *   Italy: Milan
     *   France: Sophia-Antipolis
  *   October 16-19:
     *   Germany: Berlin
     *   France: Rennes
     *   Spain: Valencia
  *   November 13-16:
     *   Portugal: Lisbon
     *   Netherlands: Amsterdam

  Each of these events will be structured as follows:

  *   Two full-day Bootcamp providing training on main FIWARE Generic Enablers.
  *   A Startup Weekend event focused on FIWARE (Startup Weekend is a rather reputed organization but if you are not familiar with Startup Weekend, please check https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Agjf0xLnws)

  There will be a huge communication campaign around these events and there are also high expectations regarding attendance by SMEs and startups to the BootCamps since they are a great opportunity for SMEs/startups not only to run the following Startup Weekend events and obtain some prize/recognition but also because these BootCamps will be allow them to get trained and better submit proposals to the phase 3 of the FIWARE PPP program where the EC will distribute 80 M€ of funding among SMEs and startups that use FIWARE !!

  Definitively this would be a great opportunity for you to disseminate your technology as an integral part of FIWARE, also valuable on its own, and gain the attention of the several thousand SMEs that will submit proposals regarding applications based on FIWARE.     Therefore, we count on that FIWARE Architecture chapters will be able to organize how they can provide the necessary trainers and coachers for these events.   I know that this is an effort, but we are talking about the events where we are actually going to promote our stuff and we cannot scrimp on efforts.

  A template of agenda, as well as a copy of that agenda for each of the planned events can be located at:

  FIWARE Architecture chapter leaders should tackle this within meetings of their chapter during the FI-Core kick-off meeting this week and should come with concrete names of concrete speakers, or at least organization/company that will be able to provide the speakers and coaches, for each of the corresponding slots in the several events.   You will find that there is a sheet per each of the "Startup Weekend FIWARE special edition events".   You should provide those names in the column "Speaker (FIWARE team involved)" and "Name of FIWARE coaches" in each of these sheets before Thursday EOB.

  There is some funding still not assigned in the FI-WARE project that we can assign to those partners who may not have remaining funding for covering the involved travel expenses.     Please try to provide an estimation of the funding that would be required at the bottom of each sheet.
