Hi, Thanks for your answer, Fermin! On the level of the NGSI protocol this certainly makes sense and I would agree to it. What we all have more or less in mind I for the new task (I think) is a model to describe higher-abstraction actuation tasks, which are then realized as concrete commands. For example, for setting the building temperature into a certain status one would have to trigger several other actuators, or maybe even use sensor readings. This requires a kind of model about how the different sensors and actuators relate to the more abstract entities. Maybe semantics can help here? Do you have any experience with this stuff, Tarek? The idea is to use NGSI updates with "side effects". So, sensors with actuation capability will expose update context NGSI operation service for given context element (e.g. "lamp.status") so when that context element is updated ("lamp.status = on") that causes the desired actuaion (the lamp is turn on). In some sense, this is analogous as SNMP works, when set operations in given OIDs allow to reboot a network device or reset an statistics counter. In this sense, our aim is that NGSI will become in "the SNMP of the IoT world". Are going to address autonomous actuation, as a result of a particular event? e.g. if X and Y happen, then do Z.
