Objet : [Fiware-wpl] Campus Party workshosp and next steps regarding Campus Party

Hi all,

  Yesterday, we close the decision about the workshops that will be organized at the Campus Party. Awaiting for any better (more appealing) titles, they would be the following ones:

 * "Developing your first application using FI-WARE" (kind of "HelloWorld" for FI-WARE, based on the Live Demo App)
 * "FI-WARE Cloud: bringing OpenStack to the next level"
 * "How to enhance the User Experience adding powerful 3D, Augmented Reality and media processing effects with FI-WARE"

  I have created a mailing list for carrying out the discussions that should lead to the concrete definition of the agenda/contents of the workshops that will take place at the Campus Party. That mailing list is in the to: of this mail and currently it includes the following members (appointed caretakers, people from Futura, some people I know in advance has to be involved in the discussion and myself):

[cid:part1.03050305.02030805 at tid.es]

  If you want to be added to this mailing please let Carlos (ralli at tid.es<mailto:ralli at tid.es>), Miguel-Angel (migfn at futuranetworks.com<mailto:migfn at futuranetworks.com>) or me know. You may decide that some people who was in the fiware-campus-party mailing list should be moved from that list to this new one.

  Discussion about challenges and other general aspects regarding organization of the Campus Party will take place at the fiware-campus-party mailing list. Please don't bring discussion on workshops contents the fiware-campus-party mailing list. As already explained yesterday:

Challenges will be announced at the different sessions on the main stage (Tuesday at 10:00am, during presentation of FI-WARE and the FI-WARE Open Innovation Lab) and the developers' stage (Tuesday and Wednesday 15:00-16:00) and they will not be tied to any particular workshop. The workshops should be focused on providing training about FI-WARE but in a dynamic way, giving developers ideas about what they can add to their application to the challenges while we are presenting a given FI-WARE functionality. Some examples:

 * when we are describing WireCloud, you can explain them that their proposal could be based on extending the functionality of the Live Demo app to add new widgets and even propose some ideas about what widgets
 * when we are describing Cloud blueprints and recipes, you can explain them that their proposal could be an application which can be automatically deployed using recipes they develop, in which case that can add points to their application
 * when we are describing the Cloud Objectstorage, you can explain that they can rely on it to upload photos, etc and then handle them from their applications
 *   etc

  As for the challenges, I remind WPLs that chapters are welcome to send their proposals until this friday 19, 11:00am. Their proposal should be sent to the fiware-campus-party mailing list. Futura Networks will consider these inputs and merge them with their ideas as to come with a final proposal by end of the next week. To follow-up progress and make it sure that we meet the final milestone, we will setup a confcall on Wednesday afternoon 16:00.

  We will not longer send mails to the fiware-wpl and fiware-wpa mailing list unless for reporting on progress from time to time. Therefore, any WPL/WPA who wishes to be involved in any of the two mailing lists, please ask for that.

  Best regards,

-- Juanjo
