Objet : [Fiware-wpl] Sprint transition - from S3.1.2 to S3.1.3
Dear Partners,
Let me remind you that we have finished sprint S3.1.2-M28 and have started S3.1.3-M29
http://forge.fi-ware.eu/plugins/mediawiki/wiki/fiware/index.php/Releases_and_Sprints_numbering,_with_mapping_to_calendar_dates
Please, update your GE backlog accordingly:
* Close the backlog items finished during M28.
* Update on-going items not finished yet to belong to S3.1.3
This task shouldn't take you more than 5 minutes!!
Find below the links to the backlog reports, there you'll find tabs for each GE.
By clicking on the ticket number you can easily access each item on the tracker and update its status and sprint.
WP3: https://forge.fi-ware.eu/docman/view.php/27/2791/FIWARE.backlog.apps.report.20130831-1531.xlsx

WP8: https://forge.fi-ware.eu/docman/view.php/27/2796/FIWARE.backlog.security.report.20130831-1532.xlsx
Once the previous task is over, you've got this week to plan and schedule tasks for your GE and update your GE tracker. You can use the previous spreadsheet for items already declared, it's all about changing status and sprints.
Changing these items on the tracker shouldn't take you more than 5 minutes.
Next week I'll meet WP Leaders in order to review all GE's backlog. I expect your contribution to have all of them reflecting your activities. I'll be also available to meet GE owners if needed and requested.
Congratulations to Susana Gonzalez-Zarzosa and Antonio Garc?a who have their GE Context-based Security & Compliance in the security chapter in perfect shape: already closed the sprint and already scheduled next sprint!!!
Thanks all for cooperation!!
If anything, don't hesitate to let me know.
Kind regards,
Manuel

Dear all,
I am editing a Special Issue of the Elsevier JISA journal on Identity Protection and Management. This could be appropriate for some of the work you have done in FI-WARE (or elsewhere) on IdM, so please consider submitting something. The Call for Papers is below and more information can be found at http://www.journals.elsevier.com/journal-of-information-security-and-applications/call-for-papers/special-issue-on-identity-protection-and-management/. Deadline for submission is September 30th.
Regards,
Adrian
Special Issue on Identity Protection and Management
Motivation
The increasing move to online business and e-government requires management of various aspects of peoples' identities on information systems. Usernames, passwords, personal profiles, social security numbers, patient identifiers, e-mail addresses, credit card numbers, etc. are used to uniquely identify individuals. Many of these identifiers are highly mobile, and spread into many information systems and purposes. As a result, individuals increasingly leave trails of personal data when using the Internet, which allow them to be profiled and which persist for long periods of time. At the same time, trends such as Cloud Computing make it increasingly difficult for both information managers and individuals to control and manage this personal information. To make systems more usable for both individuals and information managers, Identity Management systems are needed that are interoperable and can be reused in multiple systems. In addition, as a result of increasing cyber fraud and cyber terrorism, the demand for better technical methods of identification is growing, not only in companies and organisations but also in the world at large.
This special issue on Identity Protection and Management is intended to bring forth the recent advancements in this area. Original and unpublished contributions covering, but not limited to, the following and related issues concerning Identity Management and Privacy are solicited. Extended editions of published conference papers are also welcome.
* New Identity Management technologies and approaches
* Interoperable Identity Management solutions
* Privacy-Enhancing Technologies (PETs)
* Identity Management solutions for e-Government
* Identity Protection and Management in and for Cloud Computing
* Privacy and Identity Management in social networks
* Risk analysis techniques for privacy risk and privacy impact assessment
* Identity theft prevention
* User-centric and usable Identity Management
* Legal, social, economic, philosophical and ethical aspects
* Attacks on Identity Management systems
* Methods of identification and authentication
* Anonymity, pseudonymity, unlinkability and unobservability mechanisms
* Surveillance, monitoring and profiling methods
* Federated Identity Management
* Tracing, monitoring and forensics
* Privacy and anonymity in the Web
Important Dates
* Paper submission: September 30, 2013
* First-round acceptance notification: November 29, 2013
* Revision: December 20, 2013
* Final decision: January 31, 2014
* Submission of final paper: February 14, 2014
* Publication date: March 31, 2014
Submission Details
Paper submissions for the special issue should follow the submission format and guidelines for regular Elsevier Information Security Technical Report (ISTR) papers. Author guidelines can be found at http://www.elsevier.com/wps/find/journaldescription.cws_home/31185/authorinstructions. All the papers will be peer-reviewed following the ISTR reviewing procedures. Guest editors will make an initial determination of the suitability and scope of all submissions. Papers that either lack originality, clarity in presentation or fall outside the scope of the special issue will not be sent for review and the authors will be promptly informed in such cases.

Dear partners,
Please find the links from which you may download the templates for FI-WARE presentations to be used from now on. They are adapted to the new branding design by Ogilvy. One of them is adapted to 16:9 screens (we have to create it for our presentations at Campus Party)

Dear Partners,
this is a reminder for you to create training courses to publish in the eLearning platform.
The priority is for those GEis already available in FI-LAB.
It is expected to have their courses published by the end of September.
The manual is on the public wiki:

For me it comes from the way it has now been presented by Davide in his email.
This is something I will try to get clarified.
In the meantime feel free to also ask Davide for clarification from his side.
For me this remains something highly appreciated and so that we can encourage but in the meantime compatible with effort we have to or can devote.
Please notice this priority for GE already available in FI-LAB ... As you know only a few have been made so far available and at last WPL/WPA audio conf it was asked to Juanjo to define process and rules that apply for a GE to get published there ... This should come in the coming days I hope ...
Best Regards,
Pascal

Dear All,
The last report I received from TID (Manuel) - see below - clearly shows that there was no progress this month on our Chapter which is not good at all. Even more that some good progress had been performed the month before. So we do have the capacity to improve.
So counting on each of you and first and foremost GE owners/Task leads to helps us to recover from this situation and make us progress on fixing the issues identified and reported to us.
WP8-Security
https://forge.fi-ware.eu/docman/view.php/27/2822/FIWARE.backlog.security.review.20130918-1832.xlsx
Progress (Tracker:75.9%->76,0%; Flat Structure 59.1%->59.1%; 72.15%->72.33%)
Please devote necessary time and attention this even more that as reminded by Manuel the backlog has a delivery scheduled by 30th October.
Thanks in advance for your cooperation and support.
Regards,
Pascal

Tomorrow I have another commitment that will impede me to chair as usual our WP8 Weekly audio. Apologize for that.
Also why I'm asking here Daniel to share it on my behalf. Please Daniel confirm you can do so.
As for the Agenda it would be as usual to review progress on the various actions items as per last minutes and also address actions that came out during week(e.g. dedicated task force to progress across chapter on IdM GE & security monitoring GE ; improvement of needed of our Security Backlog, ...)
Best Regards,
Pascal

Subject: [Fiware-security] Transition between ticket states in FI-Ware
tracker
Message-ID:
Hi Richard, All,
to continue our discussion from today's conf call: it seems that if you
want to go from Under Execution back to Open for a ticket in the FI-Ware
tracker (without deleting it), you have to take a small detour:
Under Execution -> Under Verification -> Closed -> Open
Under Execution -> Dismissed -> Open
I also found this in a mail from Miguel Carillo on June 4th 2013, which
shows the permitted transitions:

Dear All,
This email just to let you know you still have till EOB today to work on security Chapter backlog improvement before next review report to be produced by TID (Manuel).
So counting on you all to work on it to continue to get it improved and fix the issues which were reported.
And yes I know that some of you did work on it already.
The problem is simply that we need all to work on it and not only a few.
Regards,
Pascal

Hi Pascal, Hi All,
I made some major updates to our tracker backlog and hope that most issues
are fixed.
However, there are still some open questions (which may also be interested
for the other partners in the WP):
a) There is a feature that I just now (Sprint 3.1.3) started to work on,
so I set it to "Under execution".
However, the feature will only be finished beginning of December, so I set
it to Sprint 3.2.3 (and Release 3.2).
Does this sound reasonable? I'm afraid it will be flagged by TID because
it is "Under execution" but not set to the current Sprint.
b) I assumed that when I close a ticket, I set it's Release and Sprint to
the one when it was closed/finished.
Apparently, this assumption is wrong, because in the last backlog review
under category T-C1, closed tickets that have Release and Sprint set are
flagged.
Can you explain to us why?
c) In the review under category T-C3, epics that have no "sons" are
flagged.
I fixed this issue by renaming all our tickets such that "sons" partially
contain the name of the "father" as prefix. For example,
FIWARE.Feature.Security.Privacy.Authentication.CredentialIssuance is the
son of
FIWARE.Epic.Security.Privacy.Authentication.
Is this the correct way of defining father-son relations?
There is no corresponding field in the tracker tickets, and I don't know
how else one can define such relationships.
d) Epics and Features have to be documented on the Wiki.
Category T-C5 of the review flags Epics and Features that have both the
field "Wiki URL" and "Detailed Description" set and suggests to remove the
description.
But the Detailed Description is a mandatory field in the tracker, so it
cannot be removed and thus it's unclear to me what to do here.
Best Regards,
Franz-Stefan

Dear All,
The last report I received from TID (Manuel) ? see below - clearly shows
that there was no progress this month on our Chapter which is not good at
all. Even more that some good progress had been performed the month
before. So we do have the capacity to improve.
So counting on each of you and first and foremost GE owners/Task leads to
helps us to recover from this situation and make us progress on fixing the
issues identified and reported to us.

b) I assumed that when I close a ticket, I set it's Release and Sprint to the one when it was closed/finished.
>> Correct
Apparently, this assumption is wrong, because in the last backlog review under category T-C1, closed tickets that have Release and Sprint set are flagged.
Can you explain to us why?
>> Probably due to the fact that you didn?t comply to the following rules:
? Feature only need Release
? Stories & WorkItems need both Release and Sprint
? As for EPIC so don?t need any of those.

d) Epics and Features have to be documented on the Wiki.
Category T-C5 of the review flags Epics and Features that have both the field "Wiki URL" and "Detailed Description" set and suggests to remove the description.
>>> Don?t care too much for TC-5 issues. Manuel is working on getting them addressed automatically. The objective being not to duplicate things.
But the Detailed Description is a mandatory field in the tracker, so it cannot be removed and thus it's unclear to me what to do here.
>>> You are right Detailed Description is mandatory (confirmed By Manuel). So the only thing we can do here would be to remove the content and only leave blank/white space as content.

Dear Partners,
Let me share with you the Backlog dashboards in order to help the release and sprint transition, which is coming in a few days.
The dashboards give both WP Leaders and GEi owners their corresponding views for both chapter and GEi's activity and roadmap. I think they can be understood better, and therefore organised.

If you don't find the tab for your GEi, please, let me know so that I can produce the right information for better management.
Let me give you a few tips for better understanding and use.
1. The roadmap section is there for you to identify and schedule items properly - it needs to be aligned with the technical roadmap defined on the wiki. Allowed status are open and schedule. You move from open to schedule when you know the timeframe.
2. The backlog section contains the items which are processed in the current release and sprint. Under execution, under verification and closed/dismissed are allowed status here. If you had the roadmap well scheduled, the items will be moved automatically to the backlog when the month changes.
3. The finished section contains all items finished. The only status allowed is closed/dismissed.
Let me emphasize there's need for all of us to cooperate to setup the right agile dynamic. It is neither difficult nor time-consuming, and allows better mutual understanding among the many people involved in the project. I know it's always a trade-off between different values, but you can be sure that risk management or mitigating significant deviations is not possible without the proper reliable information.
If anything, please, don't hesitate to let me know.
Kind regards,
Manuel

Objet : [Fiware-wpl] Sprint transition from S3.1.3-M29 to S3.2.1-M30
Dear Partners,
Let me remind you of the release and sprint transition. We move from S3.1.3-M29 to S3.2.1-M30, it means we also close Release 3.1 today.
http://forge.fi-ware.eu/plugins/mediawiki/wiki/fiware/index.php/Releases_and_Sprints_numbering
Let me remind you the dashboards are placed at the backlog folder:
https://forge.fi-ware.eu/docman/?group_id=27#
[cid:image001.png at 01CEBDC9.1427C570]
This task shouldn't take you more than 5 minutes. Otherwise, we're doing something wrong.
I'll take a backlog snapshot today at 18:00 CET, please, do your updates before that time.
Let me remind you that S3.2.1-M30 sprint planning last until Friday 4th October, when I'll take another snapshot for the planning meeting I'll be holding with your WP Leader.
Thanks for cooperation!
If anything, please, don't hesitate to let me know.
Kind regards,
Manuel
