Dear FI-PPP colleagues and in particular Use Case projects colleagues,

I am glad to announce FI-WARE Testbed V2 is ready for use.

This is an announcement concerning the availability of a quite large set
of generic enabler implementations (gei). For your convenience the
following list is divided into two parts: the first enumerates those gei
completely new to the Testbed, while the latter those geis already deployed
in Testbed V1 for which an evolution release is now ready for use.

The new geis are:

• Apps Chapter:
•• Registry
•• Store - WStore
• IoTChapter:
•• (Backend) Device Managent - IDAS
•• (Backend) Configuration Manager - Orion Context Broker
•• (Backend) Configuration Manager - IoT Discovery
•• (Backend) IoT Broker
•• (Gateway) Data Handling - Esper4FastData
•• (Gateway) Data Handling - SOL/CEP
•• (Gateway) Protocol Adapter - ZPA
• Data Chapter:
•• BigData - Cosmos
•• Media-enhanced Query Broker
• I2ND Chapter:
(please note these geis are not directly linked to the Testbed, although
they are formally part of it. In order to experiment them, as they need to
be bound to the underlying network infrastructure, you have to download
them according to the requirements and processes as specifically described
in the FI-WARE Catalogue)
•• Network Information and Control - OFNIC
•• Network Information and Control - VNP
•• Network Information and Control - Altoclient
•• Service, Capability, Connectivity and Control
• Security Chapter:
•• Privacy - Preserving Authentication
•• Context-based security & compliance - PPRS
•• Access Control
•• Secure Storage Service

The geis for which evolutions have been implemented are:

• Apps Chapter:
•• Repository
•• Marketplace
•• Application Mashup - Wirecloud
•• Light Semantic Composition
• Data Chapter:
•• Publish/Subscribe Broker - Orion
•• Publish/Subscribe Broker - Context Awareness Platform
•• Complex Events Processing
•• Location - LOCS
• Security Chapter:
•• Security Monitoring (3 new services)
•• Data Handling - PPL
•• DB Anonymizer

Due to the migration to the new hw infrastructure a dedicated announcement
will be made in the next days concerning geis belonging to the Cloud
Chapter.
However the new and evolved geis, as well those which remained
unchanged, can be still accessed and used through the FI-WARE Cloud already
running. The migration to the new cloud will not affect any eventual
on-going usage.

As you know by browsing the FI-WARE Catalogue (http://catalogue.fi-ware.eu)
you'll get all the info on how to access the various geis, how to use them,
the specifications they follow, and also terms and conditions to eventually
use them also outside the fi-ppp boundaries.

Please do not hesitate to contact me or my colleagues Henar Munoz and
Miguel Carrillo (both in cc - please keep also me in the loop) if you have
any problem to access a gei.

if you find any problem in using a gei you have not to contact Henar or
Miguel or me, but you have to contact directly the person responsible for
the specific gei, the “gei owner”, as indicated in the fi-ware catalogue
relevant page (normally on the left side of each gei page).

Upon this, if it is the case, please consider that the feedback process
will start by end of August, when the JIRA for opening tickets on each and
every gei is made available to you.

As said earlier, although quite large, this is just a first set of geis.
please stay tuned as in the very next days several other geis will be made
available.

i keep this opportunity to congratulate with all the ge owners and their
teams for their hard work to make all of this possible.

now is your turn, i hope you will enjoy!

ciao,
stefano
