We plan to circulate this letter to you tomorrow morning, to gather your feedback. Kindly ask you to reserve a slot of time tomorrow afternoon, in order to review the letter and send us your comments within Friday - FEB 7h. This deadline will give us time to integrate all possible contributions from you and to have a final version of the letter to be shared with Juanjo during the next WPL/WPA to be held on Monday 10th . So if I understand it right, then we argue with 4 categories of efforts: 1.) SW development 2.) Documents like manuals, tutorials etc. 3.) Others like giving webinars, having conference calls etc. 4.) The accompanying deliverable documents. On page one we argue that mainly 1, followed by 2 and 3 consumed the majority of efforts; 4 was only 10-15%. But the deliverable chapters so far only talks about 4. So I would propose to move the tables (which address 2) into the same deliverable chapters. Also I think we might consider putting some points on 1 in there to illustrate that we indeed did work on the SW. Or is the idea to intentionally rely on the Technical Review Report quotes from page 1 - like "saying ok you already agreed that we did substantial work there, so no need to go into further details there as"? If so, we should at least make it a bit more explicit in the deliverable chapters. Otherwise one is wondering why we talk so much about 4 if that was only the 10-15%. Date: Fri, 07 Mar 2014 17:13:51 +0100 From: Miguel Carrillo To: fiware-wpl at lists.fi-ware.eu , fiware-wpa at lists.fi-ware.eu Dear all, I prioritized this one a bit down on my to do list. Now and thanks to the support of Markus and Pier (thanks so much for that!) we have a new version that has not so many changes. Unfortunately I needed to do a little bit of surgery because all looked too heterogeneous. I hope that you can live with it. Now, I ask you to look into two things: * The table "/*GE uptake/enablement of third parties*/" have experienced changes in the headers and part of the data may not be valid any more. Now it says "_/as of 16.12.2013/_" in two columns . Please review carefully this detail. * Please fill in the section "/*Support planned for contributions*/" for each WP, it is just the data in the new table If we manage it quickly, we should be able to deliver in the coming week. I have estimated the number of code lines in Trace Analyzer (without empty lines) based on the main types of files used in the project, i.e. *.java, *.xml, *.html, *.c,*.cpp, *.h. Y2 version had roughly ~93K LOC Added pthread support: Java ~5K LOC Native tool ~44K LOC (it uses an IBM library which is not completely new; I would estimate 30% new code = 13K) Code changes in other plug-ins relative to Y2 are ~2K LOC So today we have ~20K new LOC, making Trace Analyzer ~113K LOC (actually ~145K LOC if we count the whole library). Now and thanks to the support of Markus and Pier (thanks so much for that!) we have a new version that has not so many changes. Unfortunately I needed to do a little bit of surgery because all looked too heterogeneous. I hope that you can live with it. Now, I ask you to look into two things: The table "GE uptake/enablement of third parties" have experienced changes in the headers and part of the data may not be valid any more. Now it says "as of 16.12.2013" in two columns . Please review carefully this detail. Please fill in the section "Support planned for contributions" for each WP, it is just the data in the new table If we manage it quickly, we should be able to deliver in the coming week. Here below the reasons: - FBK is still defining the application to develop, next week I can have a clearer view - time's running and M36 is end of next month and we have to deliver something valuable - it's not a good idea to deliver in delay once we fixed the new deadline. - we can deliver the handbook once it's done ... also before M40 - most of the partners agreed to remain for the extension until M40 (SAP is the only exception that in any case has to provide the contribution by M36) - we need to act fast and include the shift into the amendment 6 (still open) in addition to the previous points: - next week I'm going to meet also other colleague of mine working on FINESCE that are developing a trial using Context Broker, Big Data and CEP that can be used as additional project (if not as plan B). I'll for their availability to allow us to use our tool in their project. I'm going to anticipate this idea to Juanjo by mail and I want to communicate out final decision by next Monday 17th March during the weekly WPL/WPA conf call. It seems not only development of tools (with the exception of catalog & elearning platform) is stopped, but also that it is now additionally required to redistribute the remaining efforts. So I was wondering how we - as WP - are going to position ourselves with regards to: 1.) The months since the review in December 2.) The remaining month(s) I think we should already discuss this here & in our respective organizations, before next week's call. This time we are going to use Google Docs to manage it. Each partner will be able to access it any time to assess the current status. Only the respective WPL of each WP and the TID Coordination will be able to edit it. I kindly ask you to respect the template because the Commission has asked us to keep consistency and they want to have the information broken down per partner. Please note that, as in previous reports, the first section is about the WP as a team, and each task is evaluated per partner. _Please do not erase any partner and fill in all of them. _ These are the list of the links to each WP: WP1 & WP2: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1dsUqYVUMuttPygNYa_T2ygTWsO0R8xup2zTuPGI_Q08/edit?usp=sharing WP3: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1RhHiLV1aaTh_e_4D3EK1OyFQbS5HvlODoRk-ad9syLo/edit?usp=sharing WP4: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1BKr1FZpa0xyPNETB7gEkdiyT_8V-8ccJBTVRuKo98Yc/edit?usp=sharing WP5: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1B17lOH9Ty959jc_zvWcAKVGM4pfHBv5AYxsb0izgVxM/edit?usp=sharing WP6: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1FDeL960k5m53SJPDnMtL_0bhvawCHrVCD5tzvWgIrG8/edit?usp=sharing WP7: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1yLLR5sDxR4BrzST7QsKHMUHN68Wg_AZhxc3LIkWNLQQ/edit?usp=sharing WP8: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1D2QVAGnEVkfhjZUmli2PS4i8051b8fPMoCAs5BFrEYg/edit?usp=sharing WP9: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1IgoVQXtQiJ-8FrAdupOBnAwZx7mUXAiuBh_RpEwc-Ts/edit?usp=sharing WP10: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1kUUTtpWkEFnz_3j-S63k6TVjLHqOvf_Gwc5PRBy4WXs/edit?usp=sharing WP11: https://docs.google.com/document/d/10llFWWZsZXCc61uZVb_1U_P2ZwHWtimWxmlC1IBydGc/edit?usp=sharing WP12: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1TbEpS7gc2r7JIQa8jGDOAE6tqqSJYYChDqbTn_N5oDY/edit?usp=sharing WP13: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1K9WngtdMsLH9Rz1ciB0jLdUQXeNilB49tlmjGyk8604/edit?usp=sharing Note: xxx= Missing information in the document.
