[Fiware] FI-WARE mailing lists ready

Dear colleagues,

It took more time than initially expected because of some domain name
resolution issues that have kept busy during these days ... but now the
mailing lists should be ready and working.

We have created a structure where FI-WARE itself as well as most of
the WPs will have a project created in the FI-WARE site collaborative
infrastructure.

Please find enclosed an excel sheet where the projects that have been
created are listed. Per each of the project, there is a designated
leader (with the exception of IoT and I2ND where two companies are
co-leading, one as WP leader and another as WPA). The domain of the
associated blog (some blogs are already running but the rest will be
setup during this morning) and the nickname of the main mailing list are
also listed for each project.

People designated as leaders of each sub-project have been registered
as administrators of mailing lists. This will give the necessary
autonomy for each group so that bottlenecks are not created. Admin
tasks are rather easy. You probably will know perfectly how it works if
you have already used mailman before. Nevertheless, people from
Telefónica I+D and the organization currently supporting the
infrastructure have also been registered as administrators and we are
there to help.

One of the first tasks that leaders of each WP have to carry out is
to check whether all people working in their WPs are registered in the
corresponding list. This is an easy task. You just have to go to:

http://lists.fi-ware.eu/admin/<listname> (where <listname> would be
fiware-cloud in the case of the mailing list linked to the Cloud Hosting
WP - see the attached spreadsheet for mailing list nicknames)

and then check on "Membership Management" -> "[Membership List]"

We have used the data each company sent to us regarding people that
they wanted to get added to each of the WPs and general lists, so don't
blame on us if someone is missing or wrongly registered :-)

If you find that there is someone who has to be unsubscribed, you can
do that from there (clicking on the "unsub" box and then on the "Submit
Your Changes" at the button)

If you find that there is someone who has to be subscribed, just go
to "Membership Management" -> "Mass Subscription", then add his/her
mailing address in the first of the boxes and finally click on the
"Submit Your Changes" button.

At this point, you can start using the mailing lists at your
convenience. They are allowed to add attachments up to 10 Mb.

Along this morning, we will also register people in the corresponding
projects at the forge. There will a space in each project to
upload/download documents and organize them on folders. This will be
helpful to avoid large attachments in emails which is always good. Be
patient because, as I said, this should be ready by the end of this morning.

Finally, don't hesitate to ask any question or doubt. Please direct
your inquiries to fiware-support at lists.fi-ware.eu. Initally, also
copying Jose Luis Peña <sedano at tid.es>, Javier de Pedro <jdps at tid.es>
and me just in case.

   Best regards,

-- Juanjo
