[Fiware] Ports used in GEs on the testbed

Dear all,

Given the importance of this, I send this message to the whole project. This was sent by Stefano to the WPLs, WPAs and the Testbed List. If a GE owner is still not aware of this, contact your representative in the testbed to ensure that he/she sends you the info on coming occasions.

We are receiving complaints that we are using non standard ports. Many corporate networks block the access to ports other that the standard HTTP/HTTPS ports - 80 and 443. Althought this is arguable and the Uase Cases should cope with different ports, we know that we will have problems in the future and many UCs will refuse to adopt FI-WARE.

As Stefano requested yesterday, we need the GEs to set up the standard ports in each one of the GE instanciations installed on the Testbed.  We would kindly ask you to:

  *   Set up the standard ports
  *   Update the URL on the catalogue (http://catalogue.fi-ware.eu/)

In most of the cases this just  implies changing the configuration and restarting the GE.

There may be special cases where changing the port is not that easy (for instance, Virtual Machines with several services using ports). We will deal with these on a case by case basis. Those with particular problems to change the ports can contact us privately (please include all these addresses: mcp at tid, henar at tid.es<mailto:henar at tid.es> and e.cloud10 at tid.es<mailto:e.cloud10 at tid.es>).

Deadline: this has to be completed by Wednesday (tomorrow)
