[Fiware] About the incident in the forge last weekend

Dear all,

A bit more of info on the incident we experienced at the beginning of the week.

Two hard disks broke down on Saturday (5/Jan) at 2am and 8 am respectively. We were fully prepared for a single one (we use redundancy) but two at the same time is too much. To make things worse, the last daily backups had failed and the last usable backup we had dated back from Thursday night (2/Jan) at 23:58 and this is the one we have restored. This means that if anyone used the forge on Friday or Saturday, the changes have got lost.

Any changes in any of these tools last Friday have possibly disappeared. Going a bit into detail, this impacts:

  *   All wikis (public, private, chapter wikis)
  *   The SVN (I doubt that anyone used this on these dates)
  *   Docman
  *   The "Files" tool
  *   Trackers
  *   Forge accounts (just one person affected, this is already fixed)
  *   Subscribers of mailing lists (no changes here, if I am right)

The good news is that the level of activity of Friday, 3 was unusually low, nearly no one was using the forge. I was at work that Friday, and checked the activity log of the public wiki on Saturday... there were changes from just two people (myself one of them). I am hoping that the situation is similar in other tools and that this has not caused too much harm to any of you.

We are now thinking how to migrate to a new place, the same one that hosts the Testbed (Red.es servers located in Seville). Our apologies for all the trouble this may have caused.
