Dear Tokeners, Hope you are doing well and the summer has treated you well. We can still enjoy warm days even here in North Europe, but still we are working hard to prepare the first TOKEN Policy Observatory at Untitled <https://untitled.community/> festival 17th-18th September <https://untitled.community/>. Due to the current covid19-situation we are organising the festival mostly online. That’s why we don’t need to limit the amount of participants and you are all more than welcome into the event! You should have by now received the official invitation, just register via the link found in it. We’d be happy to see as many of you as possible to join us in September. All attendees are strongly encouraged to join for the entire duration of the festival from 08:00 AM (CET) on Thursday 17 September to the early morning hours of Saturday 19 September. All the TOKEN sessions will be organised during this festival time. The TOKEN sessions (except a consortium exclusive short get-together) are open to all attendees. We will take care that the right people are in our sessions. Naturally, you are more than welcome to enjoy other interesting programmes of the festival as well. Below, you’ll find the updated information of the TOKEN sessions at the festival. We’d be very happy to hear your thoughts on the discussion topics and get your ideas of the topics you'd like to cover in our sessions. The topics and more detailed content can very much still be modified, so please do feel free to share your thoughts, they would be much appreciated! 1. Get-together for TOKEN consortium partners in the beginning of the festival. The aim is to have an informal meeting to share experiences and ensure we are all prepared for the TOKEN sessions and the whole festival. 2. Three conversations on Token vision The purpose of these 30 minute conversations is to explore, develop and document the societal vision of TOKEN: What are attractive and problematic ideas of the future of DLT in transforming public services? Initial topics: 1) Radical transparency will be the future of public administration, and will be the main cause of why some governments fail and some excel. 2) Blockchain - the problem or solution to 21st century governments? 3) Data will save the world. 1. Four experimentation workshops We will organise (about 60 min) workshops on each of the PUCs. The idea is to pull in the knowledge, experience and networks of the participants for the needs of PUCs, based on our discussions with the PUCs in the spring. If you have any questions, comments or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me or Johannes Mikkonen.
