we as fiware foundation just published the official news that our summit
has been postponed.

this requires a re-planning and/or finetuning of certains meetings planned
during previous eb meetings.

thus a reflection on this shall be made in the next eb meeting (2nd april).

*FIWARE GLOBAL SUMMIT - NEW DATES*
Given the unprecedented situation, we are all facing as a result of
COVID-19, the *FIWARE Global Summit*

in Málaga (originally scheduled for 23-24 June) will be postponed to *28-29
September *to ensure the health and safety of all participants and parties
involved. In such difficult times, communities must stick together and
support one another. It is not easy, but we are confident that these
extraordinary circumstances will pass and we will, soon enough, return to a
phase of even stronger joint engagement, innovative ideas, and significant
and faster technology adoptions as they are now required more than ever.
We look forward to returning to the 2020 European Capital of Smart Tourism
in the Fall with a fantastic-looking agenda, great speakers, and plenty of
other fun opportunities, initiatives, and surprises.

But wait, there is more! On* 30 September, *Summit attendees will have the
opportunity to network and discuss urban intelligence and sustainability at
*GreenCities*

an event taking place at the same venue as the Summit, and addressing the
main issues of the Smart Cities and sustainability sector. Join us and

Also, we are delighted to let you know that, even before the Summit
officially starts, you can enjoy a 'live' experience showcasing what
makes Málaga a Smart City and the 2020 European Capital of Smart Tourism.
Join the unique FIWARE-digital visiting programme on 27 September and
experience, on a practical level, what successful digitalisation in tourism
looks like. Finally, be aware that the deadline for the Summit *Call for
Contributions*

has
been extended to *16 May*, giving you plenty of time to take part!

Rest assured that we are doing our best to make sure that our Summit's

kindly ask you to stay tuned as we adjust our plans to the brand new date.

*UPDATES ON #HM20 AND IFAT*

As most of you will have heard, *Hannover Messe*

(the
world's leading trade fair for industrial technology) has been postponed to
13-17 July. Due to the current uncertainties that still surround COVID-19,
FIWARE will unfortunately no longer be physically present at this fair. As
a result, as digital pioneers, we have decided to further explore the
digital scene and will, therefore, encourage the exchange of ideas and
networking in a slightly different way with regard to the fair. Stay tuned
for more information about the exciting things we've got up our sleeve.

Another interesting event on the FIWARE agenda is *IFAT*

(originally scheduled to take place from 4-8 May). It was recently
announced that the event will be moved to *7-11 September*. FIWARE
Foundation is still very much looking forward to being present at the
world's leading trade fair for water, sewage, waste, and raw materials
management and will, therefore, be attending as planned. We hope to see you
there!
